I disagree. Ranked is a cool way to learn more about the game and improve at it. I don't get angry at it like some teenage boy and neither should other people. It is just a game though and people should have fun with it in the end

you can learn and improve in casual too, ranked just gives you a number and a title to grind and get worked up over. Of course they will get mad at someone who doesn't take it as seriously as they do, that's the whole reason they queued ranked in the first place.

As someone who basically only engages with ranked in things, mainly Street Fighter but now Marvel too, I was just trying to say that I think your generalization of the mode is wrong. Ranked isn't inherently bad, its the people who typically engage with it. Casual doesn't give you the same thing a ranked mode gives you and vice versa. I personally think to really get good at something both are important

If you read a little closer you will find that both my comments are more insulting towards ranked players rather than the mode itself. As for improving, if you really care that much to try and master both casual and ranked, then you need a super ranked mode and a lockout from quick match to keep you from stomping casual

No, "ranked is literally" was the start of your first comment, which is why I said what I said. I don't think its me that needs to read a little closer. Also thats a silly thing to say, you don't need a super ranked mode. Its the same game, you'll improve at different things in either ranked or casual and it'll contribute to your overall skill in the game

Ranked Mode is to try harder and win as a co operating team to rise ABOVE your rank. There is casual for a reason, people should keep that in mind and try their foolery in casual.

After season 1 release. I have noted that there is way more angry players in ranked than season 0. Obviously they are trying hard to climp up their ranks there were it was season 0. So much hate speech and flaming in chat is unbelievable last couple days. I had few games where some guy start yell in voice first minute, calling team mates apes and whatever insults cross his mind. Naturally most of players in team is not willing to coop-operate with these players and it's mostly auto-lose when someone goes totally mad in chat.

Ranked is not a place to learn a character nor is it a place to f around. You may want to think that it is because it is just a game but it is just not due to majority of the people wanting to win. So if you wanna learn characters, mess around with stuff, and not take it seriously then simply do not play ranked when you do that cause it is more selfish than insta lock dps and going 1/10. Like you might not care and it shows cause you clearly do not care that other 5 people do care and rather win than lose due to a team mate that really gives no fs.

People get hostile for less, so why is it a surprise that people might throw and insult or two when you are the reason why they are losing? Sure that ranked number means nothing of material value but it does hold mental value to a lot of people.

I think this is a horrible way to view ranked. Ranked is a team based mode, more so than quickplay. If you have a person on your team that is trying to contribute something, but can't because they lack the skill to do so, getting angry, blaming them, or being mean at all is imo you failing at being both a teammate and a ranked player. This game doesn't have a role q because it wants you to adapt. So adapt. Ranked isn't a gamble, there is consistency and if you are a good player than you will climb

Either it's just a game or "we gotta team up and try extra hard to raise our rank!" Those are 2 seperate ideas, that's why there's 2 seperate modes, that's why people get yelled at in ranked.
