pressing enter changes screen size

so i just finished a game, and i figured i may as well be a good sport and do the usual 'gg' and all. but when i press the enter key it instead changes the screen layout from windowed, full screen, or borderless. tried to reset all the bindings but it still happens. anyone else experiencing this?

that sounds like you are holding Alt.
Alt + Enter is toggle Fullscreen or WIndowed in many applications.

that was one of my suspicions, but after i reset my bindings, put any other fingers off my keyboard and just only hit enter by itself, and it still did it

so i just restarted the game and it's working fine now.

hold alt, and press enter, then let go of alt, this will allow the game window to register that you let go of alt, and allow you to use the game chat again. for some reason, sometimes the game window thinks you're holding down alt, when you switch windows with alt+tab.

Sounds like the game or something else was perma locking Alt for you
