They don't, the comic industry has been dying for years.
This is OW but faster paced with very sexualized designs for both genders that make for easy clickbait + people will play a thing that's popular BECAUSE its popular as the majority of human society is wired to overall agree with the concensus and want to fit in.

The game itself is rather dry in terms of gameplay but because it's mixing 2 previously popular things together and it gained traction it's being picked up as the new hot-topic game by the mass amount of consumers. Personally I am mostly playing it to have some game time with friends and to see if they develop it further into something more interesting because there is a solid base here, it just needs some creativity.

I'm only playing this because it scratches the itch Overwatch used to. Superheros are kinda cringe.

It could be anything... thing is that woke cant create - only destroy.

They could take Harry Potter... Hogwarts... and turn it into Live Service where you run around school with a chance of meeting actual players (like lobby thing). You would have DAILY classes (missions), things to farm, house points, years working like expansions (7 Expansions... great future ahead of you). Its insane how they waste potential of this IP.

Star Wars? Star Wars is still somehow selling despite the fact that they produce trash games like Outlaw (and Disney keeps dropping the ball... only Andor and first seasons of Mandalorian were good). Make a proper RPG with proper choices - real Dark Side stuff. Maybe not even next KOTOR... combine (trash) Starfield with (goat) Skyrim.

Its pretty easy to make a game when you know what gamers want. You are not making a game for yourself (woke dev) - you are making a game for customer (maga gooner).

You shouldn't even be impress by the number of players there's is at the moment since it's a recent new game that visually looks good with an online competitive game that has so many things to bring to the table like rank mode & a leaderboard. Beside that there's plenty of characters to learn & master.

Also it's a free to play game with everything that come with it like battlepass, a store for skins. It looks like the devs are gonna keep updating the game too with new content & balance patch. Overall the recipe is good but it isn't perfect in my opinion.

many things contribute to the downfall of comics, #1 being the internet, #2 a bunch of activists did a hostile takeover of the industry and ♥♥♥♥ all over everything. Honestly the sensible thing to do is fully embrace what legacy Magazines did in the early 2010s and go almost completely online

I have major superhero fatigue, so it was actually a turn-off for me. I installed because the characters are actually attractive and look like superheros, and not some boring DEI slop design I'm seeing everywhere lately. And I stayed because I'm having a lot of fun. If the game performance wasn't absolute ♥♥♥♥, I'd actually spend money on it.
