Best melee character?

I like melee characters in general and I have played each of them in marvel rivals but I want to know the communities thoughts on the "best" one

Thor

- High Damage
- Self Shield
- Finally Immune to CC in ultimate
- Vanguard HP Pool
- Very Mobile

It's all depends on what kind of character you like to play. There isn't one best, they all serve some purpose.

Black Panther and Magik share their pick and winrates fairly closely, where more people play more Panther, but Magik win more games, so comparatively to every other melee characters, they are "the strongest".
A lot of people hated wolverine and didn't think he'd be a threat ever, but after people figured out his role, a lot more people started to utilize his kit better.

I play Vanguard and trying to learn Captain America and he is pretty fun with his mobility, but i doubt most people would call him "best".

Iron Fist is overused at low levels because of auto-aim, but there are few freaks at 1% that somehow dominate games with him.

Hulk (0 cooldown mobility, high damage, strong ult, good utility) > Wolverine (high % damage, good mobility, okay survivability if you're not stupid) > Thor (a dps with vanguard hp) > Black Panther (built in self-heal, good mobility, okay damage) > Iron Fist (has to walk in a straight line anytime he uses m1 so you just shoot him in the head and he instantly dies, only kills bad players)

A lot of people seem to get triggered by Iron Fist so that's probably a good indicator.

I can't tell you what's best. Only who I think is the most fun for me. Which is Captain America.

I took a brief look at that right before S1 released but I know there are some characters in marvel rivals that have a high skill ceiling where bad players suck at them and good players make them look overpowered

Its an indicator of people panicking and dying to the guy who takes like 3-4 m1s to kill most of the cast but dies faster than that himself

As someone who only plays Melee characters and occasionally Squirrel girl . I wouldn't call any character "best". But, when i want to win and dominate the entire enemy team solo i'd pick THOR.
His right click where he throws his hammer and L shift where he dashes forward with his hammer gives him shield, his abilities have very less cool down, You can quickly charge his ultimate by using E and fighting inside that bubble. His F ability where he throws lighting melts most dps healers and tanks.
2nd would be Hulk just keep your space pressed and your jump fully charged at all times. His slap or clap hits multiple enemies if they are in line. you can use his exile ability to stop the dps or healers temporarily and target the other low health enemy near by, when low on health use bubble to shield yourself and jump away towards your side and heal.
3rd would be Captain America punching enemies gives you shield which you can toss and hit multiple enemies, he has great survivability.
I don't know if Groot is melee character or not but he is great as well.
I am mostly talking about Vanguards because i rarely play dps. No one wants to play tanks even though they are most fun to play.
In Duellists i usually pick Wolverine, my favourite character of all time.
Black Panther is really good especially in close corridors or when all the enemies are grouped up same goes with Magik. They are good against other Duellists as well.
Spider man is good as well but he got nerfed this season so i am not sure if he is as good as others.
