the performance of this game is still abysmal
1) the same maps have the same issues (tokyo themed maps)
2) the performance settings did something, but largely, the game is still not optimized for pvp. the key here is consistant framerates and frametime. rivals the way it looks has no business running like this. not even at its prettiest

3) dlss still seems broken for ppl with older rtx cards (30XX cards essentially, dlss gives worse performance than TAAU

4) why even have frame generation if it induces input lag

i am really disappointed that the devs dont seem to take this seriously and are like: "here, have potato mode lol, we fixed it". this patch was a huge oportunity and instead we get a fake inflated season with content that was already ready at release.

I have a 3060ti and the game runs great after the update are you using DLSS in performance mode?

i am using dlss in ultra performance and the game fluctuates a lot across the game. ofc in the training range i will have like 240 fps and before then game starts. but depeding on map and teamfight i drop to 120 and since i use a 144 hz monitor those framedros are really noticable.

i come from ow where i can have 200 frames at all times no dips at all.

performance is largely subjective. what for some is good performance for others feels horrible bc of other standards.
I hate how it just takes so long to load the game. Stuck at %99 for half the game. Then it still takes a long time to load things in like animations models etc... I have it on an SSD...

well thats something that works for me atleast. i load in super quick. and for a person with a 60 hz monitor, id even guess performance might be fine. but thats not what im used to. im used to games that run like valorant, league of legends and overwatch. literally hundreds of frames per second with no noticable drops at all. a game that is so otpimized that you can actually aim at people with fluidity. and this is what i still miss in this game. it never gets so bad that its downright unplayable. but id much rather just have my aim feel consistent rather than laggy and choppy in intense fights.

i simply find it baffling that a company that also does mobile games would prioritize newest tech and pretty looks over performance. and its not even that you cant make a game look nice without having it run bad. its like they specifically tried to go for a method of achieving their look that is as taxing as possible.

maybe they still struggle with UE5. maybe it was all in the interest of shortened development time. i dont know. but i want them to keep at it. dont just pump content.

Yo, so was I, and other issued i've encountered are the performance. I have RTX3060, i've tested other game like Cyberpunk, works just fine, no performance issue, this new game and I've tried Suicide Squad are lagging af. I thought my graphic card broke or something, and I realized the issue was this game. Hope dev fix this asap. I loved this game.
i can report that rolling back the nvidia driver to one before latest does indeed seem to make the framerate a little better. still not perfect, but better. at the very least its not worse which is concerning.

this is not surprising however, since nvidia has a track record of royally f***ing up new drivers for games.

i downloaded Rivals on a low end rig and it's a cancerous experience. im talking gtx 1060, 8gb ram, i5, installed on HDD ect.. all of the big esports games u mentioned run like butter on it though.,even Apex runs smooth. yeah, they are older games... but Rivals theoretically should be optimized and very minimal on the BLOAT to where my low end rig can decently run it on minimal settings.

you say that you find it baffling that a mobile game company would blunder on aspects like this, BUT i would say they just lack the talent on how to do mindful compression, and min/maxing when it comes to the data sizes of effects such as Strange portal, which decimates your FPS.

Yooooo i think i've just found the solution. I tweak the game at the lowest settings and apply, after that I click the "Optimize" in the settings, and turn off Vsync and apply, my game now run smooth as butter. Try it, hope it helps. :Rockout:

if you click optimize, it will overwrite whatever setting you did before to what the game autodetects to be "optimal" for you pc. which usually means 60 fps target. so, nope, this is not a fix.

mostly seems to be the physics objects and map clutter that tank FPS when you think about the maps that have issues.

Welp, that doesn't work for you, but it works for me. I'm using 144 monitor, and the games run 90 something like that, better than before. Hope you found your fix or wait for the next update, hopefully performance update.

OW is first person, this is third. There is a lot more going on within your screen, not only all the characters and abilities, but all the background scenery as well as all the breakable parts of the environment cluttering the map.

listen, i told you exactly what it does. how are you still calling this a fix when all youre doing is letting the game pick the most mid setting possible for you. im pretty sure if i click optimize it will crank everything up and give me worse frames than ever before.

literally not how that works. EDIT: yeah the breakable map physics and stuff like the strange portal youre right. but the first vs third person is just plain wrong and no reason for bad performance.

lol, i clicked optimize on my pc, and it goes all way high up, maxed out and it worked for my PC, i turn off vsync and no more stuttering and all that bs, I don't know what's wrong with your PC. Good luck dude.
