audio bug since season 1 patch (sound effects coming from my controller despite using a headset with keyboard and mouse)

not sure why this is happening now, but since the latest patch, sound effects can be heard from my PS5 controller sitting on my desk

I checked the audio in the options, just to make sure nothing changed for some reason, but it still shows it's going through my headphones like it's supposed to

it doesn't pick up any music, voicelines, or anything of the sort

it's just silly things like if I fire a gun, throw a projectile, etc.

nothing else, that's it

I've just decided to unplug my controller for now, but was just wondering if anyone else got a similar issue since the S1 patch dropped
