Rank Reset Sucks Bad
I ended last season as Gold 2. Was Gold 1 but dropped to 2.

This season started me off all the way down at the absolute bottom in Bronze 3. It already took me a long time to get out of Bronze last season because of the mix of genuinely brand new players, veterans who have been playing since the beta came out, and Overwatch GM+ players.

I am now getting the exact same experience again. I have played 6 comp matches and have lost every single one, most of them hard stomps.
I am constantly getting teammates that obviously were nowhere near my rank at the end of last season, they most likely weren't even playing then. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing, no idea how to play any character, and are dying like 13 times in the span of ten minutes. Any time I try to say anything to them they get pissed and act like I'm the reason we're losing instead.

While the enemy teams keep getting people who most likely ended last season as Diamond+, know exactly what they're doing and know exactly how to play every character.

This is awful. If this is going to be the comp experience every single time then something needs to be changed here because this sucks.

Going from bronze to gold is a matter of 25-35 games, even if your winrate is around 50%. If it is much lower, you should think about whether you should play ranked games at all.
And rank resetting is a common practice for (good) competitive games
Well, and resetting ranks is a common practice for (good) competitive games

Just saying, that for everyone that have above 50% win rate statistically, someone should be below 50% win rate. So half the players playing rank, should stop? And yes, I suck...lol...still so proud of myself reaching Gold last season (and being proud of that, should indicate my skill set).

Except I got to Gold last season after being stuck in Bronze for a long time so that doesn't fit.
I don't know how you can have such complete and utter faith in a matchmaking system that you know literally nothing about.

Honestly bud the guy is just trolling. If you look at all of his responses it's basically you suck get good. I make no illusion that I am the best player in the game. However considering what I have already stated about the team set ups I have been getting. It's hard to win when you have players on your team actively working against everyone else.

I even had a troll tonight on the team actively and admittedly said he was trolling us cause it's bronze so it doesn't matter. As well most of my teams were new players against people level 20+ on the other team. Then when the levels were balanced I would have the fabled 3 assassin team that can't assassinate anything. Just to state yes I know levels doesn't matter but the fact that they do for the most part at least equal time played I am sure everyone would rather play with someone that has x amount of time then the newbies that just unlocked rank.
Don't you find it odd that all the bad players are always on your team? Probably the developers give you such bad players on purpose, and the whole system is working against you in general

And you wanted to do what for 3 months? Because you will never climb higher :steammocking:

My bad, I was going to say that apparently gold is your real rank. Sure, you can play ranked games

If you got out of Gold last season you can get out of Gold again this season. Unless you just got lucky or got carried out of it, or struggled tooth and nail out of it.

I got out of Bronze in one afternoon last season. I'll do it again later.

I play solo queue. It was rough getting out of Bronze last season.
In Bronze it seems like you are either expected to be able to hard-carry, or at least be a moderately skilled player and get semi-competent players on your team.

I am not good enough to hard carry a team of people that have absolutely no idea what they're doing, so I only win the games when the rest of my team is at least semi-competent.
Otherwise, no matter what I do, I cannot pull a win in the match. I'm just not good enough to carry a match where our Moon Knight is 2-14, our Groot is 0-4, and our Jeff is doing damage instead of healing.

Although last season when I got to Silver it told me that Silver is higher than the majority of the playerbase, and when I got to gold it told me that it's higher than an even larger majority of the playerbase, so I think a lot of people are trapped in Bronze for a while.
With the rank reset, everyone went back down so the same thing is probably happening here too.

100%, Gold is my place, perhaps even Silver. Bronze does suck. Felt it was harder to get out of Bronze, than it was Silver. There was talk about Locking Roles. I understand why not, for experience players to really set up the team as they find working. But in Bronze, it would be nice to have that special rule of Role Locking. Just two of each. And as soon as you are in silver, open it up.

Getting to Gold from Silver was significantly easier for me than getting to Silver from Bronze.

In a game where 95%+ of the population is more than likely useless, it is what it is.
JG2thend 11 de jan. às 2:32
gold silver and bronze are the same rank change my mind.
Chaosolous 11 de jan. às 2:34
Everyone is the same rank until Diamond anyway.
Marcus 11 de jan. às 2:35
Imagine every 3 months 90-95% player base is put in same queue...

On just fun note, I keep getting gold enemies and bronze teammates yesterday(meaning I play vs diamond3-gm3 players, while having bronze teammates so much for MM :P)

And if it were to take me 50 games and I still got to gold, what then? The system is broken?

It means you're not as good at the game as you think you are.

Just got to Bronze 2 in 3 matches. Won straight. It is not hard. Bronze is seriously that easy. I'll be in Silver tomorrow. This isn't trolling. Just reality.

Enjoy your stay in Bronze.
