Rank Reset Sucks Bad
I ended last season as Gold 2. Was Gold 1 but dropped to 2.

This season started me off all the way down at the absolute bottom in Bronze 3. It already took me a long time to get out of Bronze last season because of the mix of genuinely brand new players, veterans who have been playing since the beta came out, and Overwatch GM+ players.

I am now getting the exact same experience again. I have played 6 comp matches and have lost every single one, most of them hard stomps.
I am constantly getting teammates that obviously were nowhere near my rank at the end of last season, they most likely weren't even playing then. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing, no idea how to play any character, and are dying like 13 times in the span of ten minutes. Any time I try to say anything to them they get pissed and act like I'm the reason we're losing instead.

While the enemy teams keep getting people who most likely ended last season as Diamond+, know exactly what they're doing and know exactly how to play every character.

This is awful. If this is going to be the comp experience every single time then something needs to be changed here because this sucks.

NGL I feel your pain. I had a few abysmal actual bronze matches early today. Was plat 3 cause I just didn't grind comp a lot, now Bronze 1 and yeah. I for sure had a few actual bronze teammates lol

Lol pretty much the same thing that's happened to me. whats your game ID? we can play and que together. i also finished at gold 2 last season.

yeah comp sucks right now i might just wait until it balances out a bit
Without a premade squad that knows every role, ranked is a coin flip. Even a duo tank squad that main tanks can carry a lobby of below average ppl. Trust me, I have been in comp matches where everyone is on their main, we are spawn camping like its EZ bots, and vice versa. Even a dead even match with everyone even skill can be decided by one well timed ult (F you Luna)

boohoo, don't act like you're going pro. your rank literally doesn't matter unless you want to get scouted for a pro scene in any game.

I also don't understand why I am constantly put on teams of extremely low skill players and against teams of extremely high skill players.
This is why people call games like this rigged because it makes no sense why it is doing this so consistently.

Dude it's easy to get out of Bronze 3.

Then why are these highly skilled players also still here?

Yeah this has been painful a 7 tick drop is a little much. I love that i am getting matches with a 3 assassin/sniper team that can't land shots or know what an assassin does. That or the game where no duelist on your team has any range against iron man storm and hela and the assassins group fight instead of flank so they get nuked. >< ugh. Have all of you guys seen scarlet witch all night like i have?

They obviously aren't highly-skilled.

If you are hardstuck in Bronze that's where you belong. If these "highly-skilled" players of yours are stuck in Bronze, that's where they belong. They aren't actually highly-skilled.

The highly-skilled ones get out of Bronze in an afternoon.

Ok.
Except I got to Gold last season after being stuck in Bronze for a long time so that doesn't fit.
I don't know how you can have such complete and utter faith in a matchmaking system that you know literally nothing about.

Going from bronze to gold is a matter of 35 games, even if your winrate is around 50%. If it is much lower, you should think about whether you are really worthy of the gold rank.
And rank resetting is a common practice for (good) competitive games

Well, and resetting ranks is a common practice for (good) competitive games
And if it were to take me 50 games and I still got to gold, what then? The system is broken?

Honestly bud the guy is just trolling. If you look at all of his responses it's basically you suck get good. I make no illusion that I am the best player in the game. However considering what I have already stated about the team set ups I have been getting. It's hard to win when you have players on your team actively working against everyone else.

I even had a troll tonight on the team actively and admittedly said he was trolling us cause it's bronze so it doesn't matter. As well most of my teams were new players against people level 20+ on the other team. Then when the levels were balanced I would have the fabled 3 assassin team that can't assassinate anything. Just to state yes I know levels doesn't matter but the fact that they do for the most part at least equal time played I am sure everyone would rather play with someone that has x amount of time then the newbies that just unlocked rank.

If your winrate is around 50% and you've been in the same rank for a long time, that means it's literally your rank
