Unplayable on Linux
This is actually ridiculous. I was able to get by fine in season 0 but now their patch has not only broken the launcher, but the game now crashes three quarters of the time. I've played 2 matches today and I crashed 4-5 times in between those matches or during the start of a match.

I am having the same issue, have bypassed launcher but game is incredibly unstable.
I do not use mango hud and have steam overlay disabled.

Sometimes I will crash just in the menu, othertimes it will be loading into a game.

I managed to play 3 games yesterday and had roughly 10 crashes.

Removed compat data, crashes have stopped altogether.

What fixes have you tried?
My game is not launching this morning, the launcher starts but the game has a UE5 crash. I was running proton experimental though.

I will do some fiddling around with proton versions and get back to you.

As always, maybe post some details about your setup? It helps members troubleshoot

I have Steamdeck=1 to bypass the launcher in the command options as was as LD_PRELOAD=" Other than that I haven't touched anything. Other proton versions have the same issues.

try this SteamDeck=1 %command%

It's not the issue of getting it to launch it's the issue of not being able to do ANYTHING without a crash.

So I tried with proton 9.0-4 and I got a "Driver out of date" pop-up, first in Chinese and then in English... Anyway, did not help. I will go and peruse the ProtonDB now, maybe someone has posted a fix there.

I do see my system has an updateavailable too, so I will do that if all else fails, maybe it is a driver thing. I am running EndeavourOS with the rolling Arch kernel. Full AMD Sytem.

I'm running Bazzite which is using Fedora. Nvidia GPU AMD CPU.
works fine on my 4090

SteamDeck=1 %command% works for me, we will see about the stability in a moment.
One note for MANGOHUD users, recently I have been experiencing a bug with dx12 titles and MangoHUD, it's worth a not using mangohud if you are still getting errors.

Do you have the latest drivers?

Update: Deleted all my compdata and it seems to be crashing a lot less.

*FIX*
Okay so mine is working fine after a small adjustment.
- Disable the launcher using SteamDeck=1 %command%
- Do not use Mangohud or other overlays if you are still getting issues.

Which proton version are you using? Are your NVIDIA Drivers up to date?
What Settings are you using? The 8GB VRAM Will be easily maxed out at higher settings. Could potentially be the cause of the crashes?

this is one of the worst experiences post update for linux / proton gaming.
