Ranked reset is retarded!

Dropped 7 whole ranks for nothing more than to have to climb again with brain dead teammates who all insta-lock dps. Overwatch vibes all over again.

? I said get some friends, Add people in game and form groups. Would help if existing friends play yea. But its seperate friends system. Add people.

Near enough every complaint in here is solo rank play. I get it, i mainly play solo too and its rough at times. Solution: Add people, form teams.

I don't know how the upper ranks are or how far they got reset, I only started playing the game like a week ago so I didn't have time to make it to Gold. But for bronze and silver it feels more like a time sink than a skill check to me. The gains are more than the losses (plus the chrono shiled which further skews things), so basically all you have to do is play enough matches and you will inevitably climb unless you are really, REALLY bad.

Resetting ranks back to bronze 3 only serves to undo any sort of progress in terms of finding the player's true skill level and matching them with appropriate levels. Instead dumping everyone back into elo hell where all the skills are mixed.

I think Ranked should primarily be about finding a player's true skill level and matching them appropriately ASAP so they can play matches with similarly-skilled players, so this is counterproductive

i was Diamond II and now Silver 1.
I solo queued as support to Diamond (Mantis mainly).
I played 6 hours after the reset and i think about quitting the game. It's THAT bad. DPS doing 0 kills and spamming "HEAAALLLIIIING" in voicechat while flanking as Punisher and dying to 4 enemys. I'm done.

Same feeling, I'm done to be honest. I thought all my effort last season would pay off and I would continue to fight to climb to GM but now I'm just stuck with new players that go dps and deal 2k dmg in a 9 minutes match. This rank reset is the stupiest idea ever. Why can't it just be placement matches? It's disheartening.

Nope, Rocket League's system is by far the best, you lose maybe, 1 rank or so (say, in Marvel Rivals, you would derank to Gold 3 from Gold 2 or 1), and then do placement matches every season, which give you significantly more mmr loss or gain than a match if you have a rank. It is a far superior system, and that's why theres never a discussion on how unbalanced the game is. It is the ONLY game that does ranked right.

If ranks didn't reset then you'd only need to reach your desired rank once and then permanently receive free ranking rewards each season...?

Progressing the rankings is kind of the point of each season. Like, it is literally why many people play the game.
