Tbh I was amazed that mods didn't get people banned previously. No other online multiplayer game lets you mod character models, lighting, textures etc with the possibility of being banned.

@jamyjet using a cool looking spiderman skin, doesn't effect gameplay in any which way. I can understand anything that gives an advantage. But the honest to uncle ben truth is, they would prefer if you spent money and didn't get the skins you wanted for free... even if you are the only person that can see them.

1. As I said before, no other online multiplayer game (especially one with paid cosmetics) allows mods, that is just unheard of. Obviously you can't just mod a skin into the game that would normally be paid, thinking you can is just being plain stupid. If you have issues with the free to play model that's a completely different argument.

2. Modding the game files in any way, textures, models etc, can and will sometimes give players an unfair advantage, so obviously it shouldn't be allowed.

League of legends as far as I know has a decent modded skins community. Unless you’re Korean apparently and they are banned. They just can’t be skins that can be purchased. So like I said, custom skins hurt nobody. Sure there are more games and ways to allow certain skins but I understand a free to play model doesn’t want custom skins to take over.

There's tons of multiplayer games that allow texture, model and sound mods and simply disable/don't allow you to play ranked with them installed. These games are over a decade old. I don't see why the same can't be done for this game as well.

Your examples are all decade old games without paid cosmetics, as expected you don't have a valid point

Saying even decade old games can do it was just an example that it's possible to do to black- and whitelist mods for certain gamemodes for over a decade now, and that includes Team Fortress 2, the game that pretty much INVENTED in-game cosmetics. And Helldivers was released last year, has paid cosmetics and fully supports mods. And that's a fricking SONY GAME. I repeat, a SONY GAME. Some of the greediest mfers on the planet.
I have a valid point, you're just a stupid bootlicker taking things being said out of context to start an argument to defend your corporate overlords.

@Jamyjet Rockstar is pretty money hungry and didn't stop FiveM/modders . Instead hired multiple of them to help work on both GTA V updates and GTA 6. League of Legends has how many players and has custom skins with paid cosmetics. Star wars battlefront 2 won't be a new enough title for you.. but even Hitman 3 allows it. I can already see you saying it's not multiplayer.

At the end of the day, they could make it possible. It just was, but there is going to be people using it to get an advantage and they don't want to be losing money to modders. Nothing more, nothing less.

Guess you’re gonna have to play the game with both of your hands now.

I kept it pretty mild, Spider punk, Carnage as venom. Couple classic skins, no outlines what seemed to help with motion sickness I felt I was getting. I know people who only used FPS boosting mods to be able to run the game smoothly. Out of luck now.

Now I have to wait for an official Spider punk skin even though it was in the beta... Think they will be okay when the first week exceeds 400 million yuan ($54.5 million) on steam; PlayStation 5 follows with over 200 million yuan ($27.2 million), & Xbox Series X|S is estimated at around 20 million yuan ($2.7 million) ..

"League of legends has mods" is the stupidest argument anyone can make.
It's a completely different genre with an entirely different perspective.

Here you can make skins that let you see enemies behind cover or well in advance of when you should be able to. Also headshots are a thing here, meaning you can do like World Of Tanks and make skins that highlight weakpoints and make them easier to see.

Mods should be banned, and if you think otherwise, you either haven't thought about it enough, or you want to cheat. Period.

And this doesn't even get into the fact that mods would let people avoid paying for any skins, which is the game's primary revenue stream. There is absolutely no good or valid argument for mods in the game.
