Mods were allowed in TF2 untill some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made a "cheat mod" (Probably semi-transparent wallls) then they were blocked in casual. (and yes there is a workaround, and yes you can use them in community servers without the workaround).
TLDR: Modding live service games used to be a thing.

Only mod I used was the one that disabled the pointless start up screens, (seriously this should only be forced when you start the game the first time.)

Especially since this is the only game I have that loves to crash in matches randomly (usually once an hour) and then I have to sit through this nonsense to reconnect to the game.

I don't use mods this doesn't effect me.
I wonder if they remove them because someone was cheating with them by making characters be bright red or something.

It's crazy how most of the "people" here don't know the difference between mods and cheats. What got banned here was "mods" which just made characters look different or added physics or helped the game run better.


Cheats are still "permitted", there's no way Netease or ANY dev can fully prevent cheating because it's a F2P game AND cheat devs are always evolving their code. This is just a "stop having fun, pony up the money for OUR skin models not the communities free ones".

Venom's large member and SSBBW Squirrel Girl didn't not affect gameplay for anyone involved, much less provide a competitive advantage.
