i've tried everything and i mean it. still cant play marvel rivals 190hrs and still cant play it for the new season...disk read error if not that when i start it, cant download game due to connection error..which doesnt make since..its upsetting and i just wanna play rivals help

Is steam saying disk write error for updates etc? If so, try running steam in admin mode.

open up windows explorer, go to the disk in which steam and it's game files are installed too, right click the steam folder, go to properties, uncheck the read-only box so it is blank, apply and let it run. try launching the game.

this should honestly work for any platform too ubisoft, ea, battlenet etc.

you should also be able to launch it as administrator from the shortcut.

edit: if you’re having issues with it rechecking, check your permissions. give the account/administrator full access to the file, it should solve that issue.

My issue was AVG was blocking the game, uninstalled AVG and it worked perfectly. Just try and get a different Antivirus program.
