Rivals freezing my entire computer
Don't know why, but for some reason Marvel Rivals is causing my entire computer to freeze and lock up. I've had it freeze on start-up, I've frozen in the middle of the game after hitting an enemy, it never really seems consistent. I have to hard reset my computer every time and I don't know what the issue is. Does anybody have any clue what could be the issue? I'd be happy to provide my specs if necessary

Don't worry, you will get penalty for leaving either way, u just need to accept that part. Yeah no, this game is a buggy piece of ♥♥♥♥. It's an amazing game but it is a terrible software. It's almost worse enough to compete with Pokemon S/V in terms of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ code.

Weird, that never happened to me. Also the freeze does not end. I left it running for 30 minutes and nothing changed.

I have a 7800 XT and couldn't find a solution no matter where I looked. Reddit, Stream, and just nothing. My PC wouldn't stop crashing until after some trial and error on my own. Even on the lowest settings it would still crash. Just go to the game settings, turn off V-Sync, limit FPS to 125, and Medium Settings then work your way up if you want. The game still struggles with memory optimization and I almost guarantee this will work. I haven't had a crash since.

I usually cap my games at 60, you think that makes any difference?

Maybe it's an issue with 20-Series GPUs? I am running a 2080 Super.

A friend of mine, whos keeping an ear to the ground involving crashes for me, told me that they're addressing some major crash issues with the launch of season 2. The list he told me didn't mention my specific crash of my whole computer freezing up but theres a slim chance that it could be fixed. If anyone wants to take the risk then be my guest, I just though I should let any future readers/people involved in this discussion know.

Apparently these crashes were also common on consoles so I really think it boiled down to pure optimization issues on the game's part.

This works for me.
disable frame gen, nvidia reflex, v-sync
cap fps to 120
lowest graphic setting
switch shader compilation mode On

My system
Ryzen 9 9950x
RTX 3080 12GB
Ram 64GB

It fells bad that this game still crashes and freezes on a high-end pc.
Btw, I don’t have this issue in ss0 and ss1
