Running on older hardware

Alright, here's the situation: My gf has an older office PC turned gaming PC. It has an i5 8600 and currently an RX 5700XT that's screaming to be retired. It causes the game to crash without fail and it does the same thing when I try running the GPU in my PC. A whole platform upgrade isn't an option. I slapped a 550w PSU in there, so power requirements aren't an issue. She uses a 1080p 60hz screen. So more cpu bound and I know that the game isn't optimized the best. I know that Nvidia driver overhead is an issue for older cpus, but I wonder if that would have any meaningful impact on the performance of this game. With a budget of $150-200, my options on the used eBay market are another rx 5700(really don't want to due to instability and heat), Rx 6600/XT, rtx 2060 super/2070, rtx 3060. Anyone here run the game in older hardware just fine? Which you would be the best option? Feel free to recommend anything not from my list. Thanks!

just bought a new cheap pc and been playing the finals with it
i7 6700 32gb ram 3200mhz
nvidia gtx 1660 6gb card
this runs it at max until pc gets hot then slows
i need more cooling i guess

Your PC is considerably weaker than hers, especially the graphics card, and you mentioned a game that I wasn't talking about.

i run this game on the 1660S i get around 120/140 fps (low though) so ur bench mark should be anything above u can find since ur budget is limited.
the intel Arc b580 is a better budget card that would go for around 250
and is better then ur current card

Very nice! Interesting to see lots of people using the 1660 line of gpus. But what cpu are you running? Yeah I'd really like the arc b580, but it's out of stock everywhere and being scalped on eBay.

i can also stream for hours just fine
only issue i have is like alot of people is the game crashes like around every 4 hours
