Performance Issues

Game is very fun, until its unplayable, and its pretty much ALWAYS unplayable. It's almost not worth me being screamed at by my teams in ranked and even norms cause i cant tell up from down when someone ults. I get reported, i get que bans, i can't ever play roles i want cause I'm loading into the game at least 40-60 seconds after the selection is over in quick play, and I'm the butt of every noob joke u can think of even though I somehow made it to Plat 3. All because my computer (a $1,400 pc designed for high performance game play) cant run half of the maps available. ALL settings are as low as possible at all times. I've even tweaked the actual computer's setting, still to no avail. I have never in my life experienced a game that preforms THIS bad for at least half of its player base than this one. I had to purchase a skin for Storm just so i could play her due to her cape being bigger than the screen itself which in turn dropped my fps down to under 5 more than half of the games I played her. I don't know what is going on but its actually imperative that you fix the game itself before releasing more new content. It will just make the game more and more unplayable if they don't. Obvi something didn't go right during the early releases cause y'all had TIME to fix this and clearly just didn't. Overall, this has been a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience and I hope to god they fix it cause this game has a lot of opportunity.

Also let me premise this, I did extensive research on how to fix the performance issues myself thinking it was just my computer before I came here and found no part of my pc that needed an upgrade. During that process I realized just how many others were having these issues. People should't have to buy a brand new $3k state of the art gaming computer just to casually play a game, especially one we waited for and eagerly anticipated for so long. If that really is what it takes to play this game at its full potential, it will die out faster than Scarlet Witch mains past Gold 3. It's also pretty embarrassing to recommend a game to people and they come back and tell you it was a horrible recommendation lol. So for the love of all gaming, PLEASE listen to us and fix it.

Sorry to tell you, but you won't get any real help talking about it on any forum (this or reddit). The game is in UE5 which is known for the games being unoptimized, and usually you'll get hit with "get a better pc/its your cpu/etc"

I don't think theres a fix, the game started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself for me after the winter update (game said 180 fps but running like a slideshow). Before it was crisp on the highest graphics.

Game simply isn't optimized well for PC. My roommate plays on my PS5 and his game doesn't have any lag/stuttering while mine has to be on low for it to stop stuttering with a 4080 super.

im running a 5 year old cpu ryzen 5 3600 with an rtx 3080 16gb ram and have no issues most of the stuff are on high settings and its 100+fps, i put some shadows and particle to low and locked it to my monitor refresh at 144. i did get a crash when i pushed my ram to 3600mhz so i went back down to 3200 but it was actually running at 2133 for a year or so and i only changed it because of rivals.

Most Likely the servers are the problem, at launch everything played seemless for me, but now after the winter update even dropped recently in december. Servers have gone to ♥♥♥♥, at its worst I can lag out randomly for as long as 30- 40 seconds in the middle of a match.

and today looking at the server options all of them have ping at 999 across the board.

So you will have to pray to be lucky you get a match with decent server stability for at least most of it.

So less your computer and more on Rivals itself.

Hello brother. I had the exact same issue, where performance just dropped drastically all of a sudden... I mean i was getting 146fps at first, but then one day all of a sudden it dropped to 40-60fps and was stuttering and laggy as hell to the point that the game was unplayable, and its crazy because i have an intel i9, 12th gen, rtx 3070ti, 165hz rr, and my pc runs cyberpunk on max settings with ray tracing also maxed out, and i get smooth gameplay, so i thought to myself why the hell do i have performance issues on marvel rivals, (and by the way, after experiencing the fps issues or marvel rivals, i even tested other games on my pc and ran them at max settings with ray tracing maxed out and got smooth gameplay with high fps), so then i realised others on pc had the same issue, the truth is the game is just poorly optimized on pc,.. Anyways i was able to fix my issue,... I have an asus rog pc, so i turned on turbo mode on asus amoury crate and then my performance and fps in marvel rivals went back to how it was before the stuttering and lag started, so thats what fixed it for me,.. If u have asus, use amoury crate and select ultimate for gpu performance and for mode select turbo,... If u dont have asus, maybe the platform has a similar system you can use to boost your marvel rivals performance and fix those issues, and also dont expect to have crazy high fps in this game.. Even after fixing the fps issue, the max fps i got was the same as before around 146 fps, the game is just poorly optimized for pc, and the devs don't seem to be bothered about fixing it, honestly they probably see people glazing the game so much that they're like, oh ♥♥♥♥ it, who cares we don't have to optimize it, people will still play it anyways,.. But this mindset is want caused OW to lose many players,.. So i hope netease gets a wake up call, otherwise in a few years they'll have the same fate as blizzard,... A player base that despises em,.. Also man dont listen to the morons saying get a better pc, those idiots are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ degenerates,... The truth is the game is just poorly optimized, i mean i told u even with my i9, 12th gen, rtx 3070ti, 165hz rr, i still had issues... And even my roomate that has a i9, 13th gen, rtx 4080 ti super, 300hz rr, he had the same issues as me

a lot of people on reddit and this forum already put comment on their frustrated problem like. but after recent update, the game still run janky as S*it.

I do hope devs would look closely on this issue and fix it. If they keep ignoring. It won't matter what steam number or how much money they are making.

I have exactly the same issue. I have a 4090 and even though FPS says 120, but reality is the stuttering is horrible, I have frame skipping that makes the game look like a powerpoint presentation.

The game is optimized like sh*it.

just found a fix by using mods a day before update my gtx 1650 could run this game 100fps + easy and after update it doesnt work anymore

I love this game, but the performance is awful. The latest patch screwed some things up.

See I have like the EXACT same parts yet I cant even load mine up without having a constant 0 FPS and 20 seconds of delay at least

They don't care if you can not afford top-of-the-line or are willing to buy a rig that only focuses on their game then you are out of luck. I call it trash because I am tired of the push launch of game development for money and esports. Make it right or at least close so everyone can compete. No one needs destructible environments when the game itself is the next Overwatch 2 addiction. OW2 is repetitive ♥♥♥♥ anyways and we all fell for the greed grab when 2 came out. I feel like this game is going down the same road. But at least they are creative compared to the Karen Created Overwatch 2 game that should have been offline a long time ago.
