The game has 33 heroes which means in a perfect world where people pick each hero evenly the pick rate for all heroes would be 3,03%, magik has 1,7%, that is slightly above 50% of the 3,03%.
If you compare it to another dps like black panther (since you mention it), he has 1,30% pick rate (29th) and 57% win rate (12th).
So the point of only few people are good at her doesn't even make sense because the example you gave of good melee character has even less players and slightly less win rate, so your point doesn't even have data to back it up.
Now imagine 0,56 of 33 (number of heroes) players pick magik, it will take around 6,5 games to see her, and this player has a 58,9% chance of winning. Now do same for panther, 0,42 players of 33 will play him but they have 57% chance of winning.
Who do you want in your team?
Do you understand how crazy is to have 58,90% chance to win a game.
The best people in solo sports like tenis got to their level by being on average 50-51% better than the other professional athletes, the crazy top of the top are 51%-52% like Djokovic, Nadal or Federer.
They have this high win rate because they have to go through low ranks to get to the top, so those games will inflate their win rate.
Any player who gets to their real rating eventually will get a win rate around 48% to 52% it will just take time, otherwise they would rise for ever and that would mean that individual player is the best in the world.
If you even put the effort to check these players game history you will notice that they don't have crazy amounts of wins in their history, the win rate comes from the path to their deserved level
you're just bad
ill take free buff tho
58,90% win rate is for all ranked games, so its incredibly high. There is no real or fake win rate. You could argue it can change depending on bracket but that is pointless in a balance perspective, because even if it was true it would only mean it's a skill issue on the player side.
I play Strange, Wolverine and Moon Knight
