Just to preface; this is the only UE5 Game that crashes this consistently. I have a few other UE5 titles that I run with relatively no issues like stalker 2. So I'm pretty sure its not a Hardware related issue. Most likely driver or even perhaps chipset related with how they have chosen to optimize the game. Essentially. outside of rolling back drivers and tooling around with settings to maybe make things work.. I think our best bet is to hope they 'eventually' address it in an update or wait for another round of driver updates for the affected GPU's.
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
16gigs ram
Game on SSD drive
I am playing with that & running my internet through my phone. Zero lag & only crashed once. I can nearly guarantee the issue is your hardware or software interference.
- Disable Nvidia Reflex and DLSS, as they use an outdated 2022 SDK that causes memory conflicts.
- Cap your FPS to 120 to prevent GPU overload.
- Turn off the Steam Overlay, which can interfere with rendering and stability.
- Play in Fullscreen Mode for better performance.
All these steps are necessary to resolve the crashes. If you want to use Reflex or DLSS, manually update the DLLs in the game files with the latest versions from the Nvidia Developer Portal and download the latest Unreal Engine Streamline Plugin SDK.
havent seen a single crash:
7800x3d
64gb 6000 Mhz
4070super
Intel 13700K
Asus Strix Z790 motherboard
64GB DDR5
MSI RTX 4070ti
NZXT AIO CPU water cooler
12 x 120mm Case Fans
Windows 10
I have literally never had an issue with ANY game running on this build prior to Marvel Rivals. I absolutely love the game, but it does crash about every 3-4 games. I put my full build to show that it is not a matter of "buy better hardware" as some have suggested in other responses. It DOES however seem to be limited to the 13th and 14th Intel Generation processors and a few select AMD processors.
I have tried:
Updating BIOS to latest as well as the MEupdater tool
Going back to 32GB RAM
Disabling all RGB software from boot
Downloaded XTU from Intel and tweaked the performance cores as suggested by the game
Ran the game in lower graphics settings
Changed the FPS limit in game to 1 under my max refresh rate of monitor
Changed the Nvidia Control Panel settings a bit and removed/restored the shader cache
Ran the game exclusively without running other programs like discord, antivirus, firewall, etc.
And a few other tests that I'm sure I am forgetting...
NONE of these tests changed the outcome in which the game will run fine and then crash after a few matches. (To be clear, the game is crashing, NOT my PC)
I have been an IT in the military and now an IT civilian side. I am not without fault and perhaps I've missed something, but in no way am I new to troubleshooting tech issues. I would be more than willing to continue troubleshooting any other plausible recommendations, but unfortunately all of my testing so far has not made a dent.
***As a note of interest... My coworker decided to copy my PC build 1 for 1, with the exception of him installing Windows 11. He was experiencing PC crashes after running the game. After I brought him through all of the chipset driver, BIOS, MEupdater, Nvidia driver updates, he stopped having ANY problems running Marvel Rivals. According to him, his PC and game runs fine and has NOT crashed after those updates we installed.***
So, my final thoughts are perhaps in Win11 there are additional/different drivers that are allowing his identical build to run and yet in Win10 (my PC) the game continues to crash.
