continuous crashes and graphic card dying???
hi, so basically this game went from crashing sometimes during games to crashing at almost anything I do, like opening the battle pass or the settings, changing gamemode and other stuff too... i've tried to do stuff to fix it but nothing has worked... Now i'm posting this because the game just crashed on me and all my windows started glitching out, making weird triangles everywhere everytime i moved them, and distorting them at the same time... I've had this pc for like a month, brand new components (4060ti 16gb, ryzen 7 7800x3d, 32gb ram)... how cooked am I? should i stop playing? im scared this game will destroy my pc

What about other games?. Are you able to play them without crashing?. Are they artifacts on games and in os?.
I thought I was the only one having these issues but I have an older yet viable computer, but to hear its giving you trouble on great PC parts like that is horrifying to hear. I wish I had an answer but the closest I've gotten to being able to click on something in the menu was when I lowered the FPS (The slider in the menu), I hope they update these issues soon though because this is a great game.

i am able to play black myth wukong without issues and helldivers 2 at almost max settings without issues. it's just this game. Everytime it crashes it gets worse and worse, i've had it crashing as soon as I hit "launch" on the launcher. it seems to be getting worse and worse with every crash

It sounds like you're getting a lot of artifacts, which is what happens when your graphics card overheats and starts dying, either your computer doesn't have sufficient cooling or your graphics card needs a RMA, buying higher quality computer components, including a higher quality power supply can prevent these problems.

Adding more sufficient cooling could potentially fix the problem.

You don't have to believe me, like most steam users consider me a troll but I only provide real information.

I really hope your computer doesn't kick the bucket for you.

I use CPUID HWMONITOR to show me the temperature of components, and I can assure you it's not overheating. I have liquid cooling and 4 fans in my pc, highest i've seen the gpu go is 50 degrees celsius. One thing i noticed is the GPU spikes to 100% in random points while i use the game. and sometimes it leads to a crash. It straight up will go from 20-30% to 100 for under 3 seconds before returning to normal, but sometimes it just crashes instead. For liquid cooling I use the BE QUIET! pure loop 2. My case is the Corsair 4000d airflow, my fans are corsair SP120 ELITE. GPU also has 2 integrated fans, its the PNY version.

The issues you are describing is thermal throttling. And if your thermals are fine then you have malfunctioning GPU.
Personally, I wouldn't trust anything from PNY, I would go for a more reputable brand, something that doesn't cheap out on components.

When it comes to gpus I recommend, ASUS and MSI.

A note, the gpu artifacting only happened once after the game crashed, before i made the original post. When i restarted the computer it went away. I've read on the article you posted that it could be caused by a particular game, and that appears to be my case. How do i verify that my GPU could be malfunctioning? is there a way to be certain? I have until the 15th of january to return it to amazon
ChatGPT:

Hi everyone,

I wanted to offer some insight into the issues being described with the crashing and graphical glitches. Based on the details shared—especially the random GPU spikes and artifacts—I suspect this could be a hardware fault with the GPU, despite the temperatures appearing fine. Here's why:

Thermal Throttling Unlikely: With a max of 50°C and proper cooling, overheating doesn’t seem to be the issue.

Potential Hardware Defect: Artifacts and crashes can also result from a faulty GPU, which could be the case here. PNY cards, while functional, sometimes don't have the same quality control as ASUS or MSI cards.

Suggestions for Troubleshooting:

1. Stress Test the GPU: Use a tool like FurMark or 3DMark to run a benchmark and monitor for any artifacts or crashes. If the GPU consistently fails, it's likely defective.

2. Test in Another System: If possible, install the GPU in another PC to confirm if the problem persists.

3. Check Power Supply: Ensure the PSU provides stable output, as sudden power spikes could also cause instability.

If none of these resolve the issue, I’d recommend pursuing an RMA with PNY or considering a replacement with a brand like ASUS or MSI, which tend to have better cooling solutions and quality control.

I know some may dismiss my feedback as trolling, but I genuinely hope this helps resolve your issue. If there's additional context or specific tests you’d like me to suggest, feel free to ask!

ok so i've tried the furmark benchmark tests, ive noticed when running furmark (GL) it does it without problems almost every time, but when i try to run furmark (VK) it crashes almost instantly. What does this mean?
VK is the vulkan driver from amd but that shouldt be crashing.

Sound like a power supply issue.

Try turning your graphics down, i i know you can run higher, but at a lower gpu usage it should lower the voltage. it might be more stable

ive tried every test on FurMark2 and they all do fine (even furmark knot (VK)) but it refuses to run furmark (VK). it crashes instantly every time

This has been happening to allot of people on pcs and console. The game has a memory leak and will sometimes corrupt files on your pc. Like drivers. On my older pc it messed up my registry and I kept getting pop-ups saying it can't find a specific thing for the graphics card. I delete the game repair windows, ddu and then reinstalled drivers.
On my 7900xt 7800x3d system it stated corrupting other game files and after a few hours starts artifacting. More vram you have the longer you can go.
it's just this game. it crashes for a lot of people and the error is related to GPU. It's the developers, not UE.

it literally cannot delete registry files and/or drivers.

Final update probably:
Ended up refunding my original graphics card (a PNY 4060ti 16gb) and buying a sapphire nitro+ rx 7800xt. Game is working fine. Haven't had a crash or lagspike or freeze or anything whole day. Don't know if they fixed something with season 1 launching, or if amd cards are just better. Anyway, happy I can finally enjoy the game now.
