Rivals Bots in Quickplay (Comp?)
I noticed that I be playing against fake players.
Players or Entire teams who have their Career History locked.
Noticed in the kill cam or replay they would lock to different players in a very robotic way and pre aim doors or lock onto players behind cover.
This could be a big issue.
I initially thought it would be Rivals doing this to fill in players or the theory people made that it gives you a free win as they arent very good.
But I dont think Rival would add bots that would Pre Aim Doors or Lock onto players behind walls and cover.
And having the play History Locked would hide that they just made a new account.

Check your kill cams and replays and typically the bots will have Career Histories locked.

Never practiced with bots so Idk how they move or aim. But if it is Rivals giving us bots in our games Add a thing to let us know it is indeed a bot. No reason to Hide it.

Yes, bots run rampant in this game. Its disgusting
I'll see enemy players move backwards in a straight line towards objective. You can tell its bots and it happens after a few losses. Idk how I feel about it, feels manipulative, like "Hey buddy its okay everyone gets a trophy here." when you stomp these bots does anyone actually feel good? like when I win it feels better when its a real player vs beating bots. Plus how can you actually get any better without facing actual opponents, seeing their strategies and movement patterns.
After a loss or two in QP you will face a bot team. This is to make you feel like youre having fun and stay in the game. The better you think youre doing the more likely you will keep playing and the more you keep playing the more likely you will spend money. This is why things like this and sbmm exist in modern games, to give you the illusion of fun as if youre skilled. They are manufacturing "fun". This is also why the bots are made to look like real people. After you lose a game or two and you stomp the next team, look at the replay you will find every person on the enemy team has a locked profile and if you watch the replay its obvious.
You can find codes to replays of bot matches i've had here if you wanna see

They won't ever be transparent about the bots, as doing so would defeat half the purpose for their existing..

The other half of their purpose is to effectively serve as a bandaid solution to a fundamentally flawed matchmaking system..

Without them, the matchmaking experience would be very similar to that of overwatch 2.. where the majority of matches are excessively uneven
There is a reddit thread documented it, I believe its to keep your win ratio around 50% if you start losing a bunch of matches. You can kind of tell by the names but not always.

From my quick play history it seems like a single loss will trigger a 50% chance at bot match, and two losses in a row or more is a 100% chance of next match being a bot match.

I think the reddit thread said the enemy team is all bot AI, and you have 2 AI on your team, rest being other players who have lost as well and need to make a win to bump up the win ratio.

The difficulty of the bots seem to vary between 2 and 3 star AI mode, they aren't to bad really. Honestly with some of the people I get matched up with I'll take AI teammates.

This is quick play though, I haven't seen any in comp? Then again I don't play comp enough.

Dont even have to be after a or a few losses. Ive had 4 wins in a row and still got a bot game.

Today I had 3 losses in a row and then got 2 bot games in a row. Absolute amazing experience. I logged midgame when I got the second bot game.

beyond manipulative and i hate it. fortnite does the same when i go back to playing it like every 3 months my first few games on are straight bots and i drop 30 kill games with wins... clearly done to get to keep playing the game....
It's a loser mechanic when you're so bad it will give you bots to play against as a free win. Same as with Fortnite or other games as a way to keep a very badly skilled player playing or a new player.

I've never ran into bots once. It's also why a lot of player didn't think this was real at first cause....they never play against bots.

Fam people are saying it's not even a lose mechanic, people can go on multi-win streaks and the very next game is STILL a bot game. It's random filling at this point to keep those queue times into game between 0-4 seconds, typically if it queues longer than that, higher chance of being real players but i havent done enough research so grain of salt, i have saved a few match replays to see bots indeed populating quickplay, 100% obvious in how these bots move, they usually take a single path towards the control point or objective and hardly ever use their whole kit the way it was meant to be used. Starlord CPUs never do the clip reload while trying to kill players, he'll always do flips and use both after he is no longer fighting enemies, never active reloads to do more damage, it's just a button it sees that it can press every 6 seconds. Fr, find a bot/cpu starlord or even a Storm or Scarlet Witch and just WATCH how they move around and aim at things.

I abandon these games even if the game tells me "You might get a penalty!" for being forced to play against CPUs? so spend 5-12 minutes in game or get this 5 minute ban....yeah guess which i'm gonna pick? might as well enjoy a youtube video or some sht, phuck you too Rivals.

The teammate bots are always way better than the enemy bots and they'll usually fill. It's an annoying mechanic but I don't always mind it. I'll usually try to switch to a character I still need achievements for or want to practice with.

I'd be fine with this mechanic if it was just 1 bot per team or something filling, not an entire team of CPUs, that "comeback" game more feels like a jerkoffsess provided by netease.
It's to keep casual players in. "A loss feels twice as bad as a win" is a plague of any competitive game. If you can't entertain and maintain playerbase, you will not have a long lasting successfull game on your hands.

And suprise, to have YOUR winning games, you need opponents that are weaker than you, otherwise you wouldn't be playing the game. It's a food chain.
