Does anyone else feel like they wont make to grandmaster before season ends
I was super optimistic at first out of all my friends playing I manage to hit diamond 3 first started late to rank at lvl 30 because I wanted to know at least 2 or each character class going Into rank. But just got bumped from mid diamond 3 to plat 1 and if I lose my next match I'll go back to plat 2. With only 5 days left I think I'm leaving my goal for grandmaster on the sidelines. Maybe next season when I have more time (play comp from the beginning). Anyone else plan on throwing in the towel.

The game also has inflated ranks
So people who just keep playing will slowly go up.
as long as they have a 50% winrate.

Thats what Ive been hoping but I wont play comp for a long time because of it. Ill try again in a few months and if its the same again I probably wont play it again.

QP is still a mess though. On so many lvls
COmp has better way better quality of matches for me.

Tried again tonight for the first time in a maybe 2 weeks and Im actually inclined to agree. All pretty close games. Getting 40-50p/win so matchmaking might be adapting already.
Just succeed my way to GM3 for the shiny badge : https://tracker.gg/marvel-rivals/profile/ign/Hysanka/overview

It was clearly not easy and you start to see way better players as soon as you reach D1. The skillgap between D1 and D2 is HUGE. I'm a CS:GO supreme, OW diamond from back in the days (only played first season) and master/diamond in every other game i play so i'm not a rookie. My opinion is that all the people who say that you can get GM even if you're bad are delusionals, or we clearly didnt played the same game because i absolutely dont feel like it. You 100% have to be a gamer, at least in my soloQueue experience, otherwise you'll get rekt very hard by all the end-season GM wannabee.

The most important imo is to be flexible : i'm a dps main but i HAD to play tank for a few games coz i had instalockers and it was autoloose if i did not made the sacrifice myself coz those people clearly wont change their role.

Good luck to you tho, you still have two days to go which is more then enough!

You're not missing out on much friend. High elo games (Eternity+) feel like quick play games... Just filled with players who have better aim/game sense. GM3-GM1 is full of toxic try hards that blame all their mistakes on the person with the lowest K/D/A or Stats.

Ya I've noticed at no point does anything get better just basic skills not intelligence.

Currently grandmaster III, need 20 points to rank up. Played only solo cuz my friends are stuck in gold.

I saw one streamer that was in the grandmaster ranks and it's exactly this, since I play exclusively QP for the fun of this game win or lose it's easy to find high ranking players by them blaming everyone else but themselves, shet even the high rankers like to deflect and act like that type of behaviour is exclusively low rank/casual but it's only competitive players that believe winning and stats are everything and anything

All the stress goes away when you imagine comp is quickplay, at least for me. I started convincing myself I was in QP and I was having more fun in comp and I felt like I was actually ranking up more lmao

I flame my teammates in a form of enjoyment when I'm losing.
I understand that reaching Grand Master is unlikely for me given my current skill level. To be honest, I don't feel I've earned that rank yet. I've taken a significant break from competitive shooters for the past few years.
I truly appreciate that the game offers the special skin at the Gold rank for anyone that just need to complete a selection, which is an achievable goal within a reasonable timeframe (90 days), This is a very player-friendly approach.

No, Because this undermines the value of ranks
up until grandmaster
You lose less then you gain
I currently have a HORRID win because this season has been terrible for ranked
And Im sitting at a 45% winrate (60% last season)
And I am in diamond 3
which I got to from gold 1.

This system doesnt value skill
But those who simply play more.

I get what you are saying. The only fair way then would be to take the amount of people that plays comp. and base your rank on the percentile you are in. One thing I wish was more prevelant was the +/- was based even more heavily on your score in a match (with another re-justment on how scores are calculated. Feel playing the point should give a scoring as well).

I was saying this last season and people were tweaking out at me lol, it's entirely based on luck with the SBMM, not skill. Your win/loss is determined the moment you load into a match, so simply

Play more.
