If my role is to keep you healed your role is to keep me from being harassed by divers especially if i ping/ mark them .
If you're not getting healed then take a look to see what you're Strategists are dealing with in the backlines. More often than not we have a couple of diving Duelists up our asses preventing us from actually throwing healing out.
As CaD I can shroud out of a sticky situation to get high ground and continue healing you, but a Duelist that is built for dive will easily have ways to catch up to us pretty much straight away. This is exactly why I'm commenting on the fact that Strategists are getting no support, especially in situations where they're solo healing in 1-4-1 party comp.
1-4-1 is viable, but to make that ♥♥♥♥ work at least one of the Duelists need to be prepared to take a backline defence to help their Strategists out against dive comps. Or they need to switch to Strategist and change the set up to 1-3-2.
You clearly decided to cherry pick parts of this conversation for your reply.
In certain team comps we are pretty much forced to heal bot since more than of the team would rather insta lock a duelist.
Not to mention the moment you don't heal someone they start spamming and demanding heals.
Strategists literally can't win against a lot of you. If we're heal botting, we're bad. If we're not healing because we're protecting ourselves against an enemy diving us, we're bad. If we can't win a 1v2 when getting dived, we're bad.
As I've previously mentioned, it's not hard for at least one Duellist to turn around and pick off even one of the divers harassing their Strategist. The quicker someone does it, the quicker you get back to the team fight. None of you seem to want to do that though and force your teammate to play a single player match in a team game.
As I also mainly play Strategists I can totally feel your pain. And like 6 out of 10 matches with randoms I'm also always facing the same issues. Sometimes I can mitigate it or one of my fellow random teammate(s) turn around and helps out, but most of the time I'm just getting ignored and being left for dead (even when someone's literally bashing my back, and I'm close to my team, and the rest of my team are like totally blindfolded), and then ppl just spam the ping, and spamming the chat like "HEAL HEAL?!" without actually realizing the real problem. As I've checked out quite a few pro tournament and ranked matches, most of the teams are always rolling with the following setup which helps a lot:
1 tank
3 dps
2 healer / support
or
2 tanks
2 dps
2 healer / support
(Needless to say that with 2 healers you can actually support each other, so you won't get steamrolled. But good luck finding a random game where ppl actually give a damn, hence most of the time I also solo heal.)
And they actually lend a helping hand when their supports are in a pinch, not on a babysitting way, but they're keeping an eye on them for sure. Also a role queue would help a lot imho like it did back in the classic OW days, since on many occasions ppl tend to rage-change classes after a few deaths, like everyone's changing to dps with only 1 healer left in the team, then the enemy team will simply take the given opportunity and destroy you with 2 tanks and with the rest of them dps and supports. So yeah, it's not really ideal atm. Also when your team just randomly chasing and trying to pvp around the map for no reason, when instead they should stand on the capture point, and leaving you totally alone on the capture point as a healer (since someone's gotta cap it) and then crying for not getting heals on the other side of the map while they're chasing like 1 or 2 enemy players, and ofc then you'll get destroyed on the cap point, since the rest of the enemy team will just simply rush you.
But tbh, I'm not really surprised about these current issues atm since OW had the same back in its initial period. And the lack of team awareness / teamplay / IQ can not be patched or hotfixed unfortunately. The only thing one can do when it comes to playing with randoms is just click on that play button, and hope for the best. Or trying to get some friends to play with, so you can at least eliminate some of the above mentioned problems. I also found that playing ranked instead is a bit better, ppl tend to stick to better teamcomps / strategies more, properly doing the objectives and not just randomly running around the map TDM style, so actually giving a damn.
