Consistently stuck on Round 2 Loading Screen of Convergence maps

I've lost a couple (very winnable btw) ranked matches from this, and its insanely frustrating
Ever since the season 1.5 update, on point capture maps (wakanda, hydra, etc.) the game gets stuck at loading screen when a match goes to round 2 and 3 and there is nothing i can do about it
The initial loading screen for hero select and all that works fine, it only gets stuck on round 2-3
Restarting the game does work, but by the time i return to the match, its pretty much already lost, and I get stuck in loading screen again if it does gets to round 3.
I've noticed while trying to return to a game that it gets stuck at 75-76%, if that means anything
I've transferred the game files to an SSD and while it did help with loading times, this problem remains.

This problem did not happen before the update, so its not an issue of my PC being too low-spec
Is there a way to fix this without buying new pc
Any real answer would be much appreciated, thanks

also wondering if someone else has this issue, i've done a bit of digging but only found a single reddit post from launch with the same issue but only 1 comment and no hints of a fix
