I got the hang of them after a couple weeks, mained them Season 1, and now I'm stuck in this limbo where it feels impossible to properly learn another character (Hell, it feels like I haven't even learned the one properly sometimes).
Posted earlier about a game where I went 5-20-14 as Moon Knight/Rocket in comp, but the real telling part of it for me was ult tracking in games and realizing that I'm always behind, and by a significant margin.
I was asking genuinely, I know lots of people that only play CnD and I figured those changes were going to hit those players harshly.
Personally, when I want to learn a new character, I start out in practice vs AI to get a grasp of the controls then move to unranked, as much of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as that game mode is - getting the worst of the worst conditions makes playing the character in comp feel much better. I mainly play Thor/Dr Strange so I've been doing this with Loki and Magneto recently and it's been decent. Sometimes tiktoks give good advice for specific characters, too, especially with all the changes that were made this half-season. Like to wait until CnD is halfway through her ult before getting ready to smash her with a big rock
Basically, I'm recommending to do anything except going to comp to practice a new character
Any recommendations are aim forgiving characters? I'm trying to get hang of Mokn Knight and his ankh combos right now.
It is a team shooter. You can always go for a Vanguard such as Magneto that has splash damage, but he has two (three with scarlet) modes of fire and you will have to place decent shields.
The game balances Aim Forgiving with good positioning. I think a hero you might like is Squirrel Girl: she got some CC, her range is acceptable, you got a scape and some sort of cooldown reset. As a Vanguard, Parker might be interesting for you since she benefits methodical play and as a healer, you can go for invisible woman.
If you want to improve, find 2 characters for each role that you really like and spam those. With time, you will find something good for you. Have patience and have fun.
If you're incapable of learning and improving in such a simple game, then gaming and especially pvp games aren't for you but it's still your choice on whether to continue with them or not. The majority of people playing this game fall into that category but choose to ignore it.
Please tell me you aren't suggesting I take the time to learn THIRTY-SEVEN characters before playing another ranked game. You are out of your right mind if you think ANYONE has the time for that.
Also "such a simple game" for you, perhaps This is my first shooter game since GoldenEye 007 on the N64.
Great job sticking your nose up at m, though. Hope it brought you some satisfaction.
