My CPU is going bonkers

So playing this game even sitting in the login screen is making my CPU run to 99% load only when playing marvel rivals. havent had to shut the game off or anything yet but wtf is going on? Is this a rivals issue with the new patch cause it was running fine before this. Is this a known bug issue affecting other people?

yea my rivals been 99% cpu usage ever since i started playing again. i reinstalled the game today so idk about the new updates if anything is causing this or if its a users end

Same, the game was running great before the update and now it's unplayable.

i used to average 60-70 and now its in the 90s....super weird and i wonder if its linked to the powershell thing going around that also causes stuttering

For what I have read on other posts, more than probably. Powershell, from what I read, tries to ping for something every 9-19 seconds and it causes the periodical stuttering, and a game should not be trying to powershell its way into your system. Either they fix this or they're gonna bleed gamers who flee to greener pastures. As for lower FPS, it seems to be taxing the 1st core to the 100% and well, that just seems like poor programming.

So did some testing fixes on my end and my CPU and GPU were going higher temps and my GPU maxing out to 99% load when it didn't do that with rivals before. I know thats not a huge issue but still odd. Managed to clam my GPU temp down from 60 to 45-50 but this really needs to be fixed

Does the same thing on linux full fps (165fps with low settings) still i have stutters every 5s it's unplayable

I recommend emailing their support team, this new patch is jacked. Email has been the only way ive even gotten confirmation that theyre looking into it. still no fix from them yet though

Literally same here, game was working perfectly before the update, I ll tried today and its uneplayable lol, cpu and gpu at 99%, tf is this, i hope they notice it and fix but idk how since they dont have an assistance to the player or smth

What is their email? I want to email them so they can be aware this problem happens to many players

Rather than the script, I just renamed the powershell executable in steamapps/compatdata/2767030/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32 /WindowsPowerShell/v1.0/ (and the one in windows/syswow64/WindowsPowerShell/v1.0/) to something else (presumably to make it not be found by Marvel Rivals). "

this is what i was referring to. maybe you can get to it before i can today and come back with results? going to do it myself regardless
