This Game is Breaking Your Computer
If you, like me, are experiencing full PC crashes when playing or loading this game, you are functionally playing Russian roulette.

The reason your PC is shorting like this is to avoid catastrophic damage being caused by a resource leak (most likely memory) and is a disastrous issue. During this shutdown the PC is not able to properly dump RAM, CPU is being exposed to a sudden drop in voltage and worst the GPU is essentially being unplugged quickly.

This can lead to your GPU becoming faulting and causing the screen to flicker, it can cause your entire system or just CPU to short leaving you with an expensive brick, or your windows installation can become corrupt and you lose all your personal files. These are just some of the consequences of your computer hard resetting.

The reasons for this vary and the most common I have found is:

UE5 incompatibilities with i9-13900k model CPUs- This is what I think my main issue is. I managed to fix it with a work around which is what allowed me to play the game up until now. Using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility i was able to change to Core ratios to something that prevented crashes. However as the game continues to be updated and the devs continue to ignore this issue the problem here remains.

Shader Cache Compilation causing crashing- As the industry moves towards shader caching methods this issue will become more prevelent. Where to start: paging file could be too small, Nvdia Control Panel could have the cache set to unlimited or disabled, or you could just be SOL.

Memory Leak- As previously mentioned its almost certain at this point that this game (and UE5 at large) has a resource issue. Unfortunately this issue can only be band aided, not fixed from our end. Up to the devs to fix this.

TLDR: If your computer has crashed and restarted, you should probably stop playing the game. Every single time it happens you run the risk of losing your gaming PC to devs who refuse to fix their game.

Im a bit curios as you mentioned 13th intel generation.
Did you update your bios to get the newest intel microcode to prevent cpu dmg due to intel devs being dumb?

Yes, and it doesn't matter as the damage is irreversible and clearly doesnt fix the issue.

Its just a big maybe but maybe your cpu got already damaged and now yapps its last breaths befire completely dying. Happened to my GF last year too. Hirrible experience with support to get a running pc again.
Not MRs fault, intel did a great job selling faulty cpus and just didnt fix it intime to prevent damage for many users.

Refer back to the fact I have 130 hrs in the game without crashes and now this update has stopped that from being the case.

It wants permission to use powershell after the update too...

When i correctly remember intel themself stated that cpus can be damaged and work for over a year after all till the problems arise.
Its hard to be 100% sure bzt your cpu can be damaged before MR even released and now slowly is getting problems more and more.
Thats why intel got a big s-storm because no one could guarantee your cpu will work in 2 years.
This is %100 up to Marvel Rival's to fix. Not make us find a work around, talk about an unfinished product. This is now affecting thousands of people.
I seriously doubt ANY damage can be done by shutting down your computer. When you press the power button and cut the power.. everything goes dark, there is no such thing as voltage spikes up or down, its a computer its either ON or OFF. If your getting voltage issues its your power supply or some foolish setting in your bios or overclocking

The issues in gaming, generally speaking, caused when using Intel Gen13 and 14 are purely due to the fauly CPUs and the issues with the bios and the crap that is around those 2 in combo, not the game. Other issues due to the game patch messing out the game client are another thing and for sure it doesn't makes your hardware going boom.

It's been using powershell even before the update. Good amount of programs on your computer use Powershell for process automation.
The game hasn't crashed for me but it's chugging. I'm running Ryzen 5 5600x, RX 580, and Windows 11. I'm running the game at 47 to 50 fps but it's chugging and it's unplayable.

Taking ages just to load and it's on an SSD. Worked just fine yesterday, loaded quick, no stuttering. Today it's an unplayable slug. They better add time on to the events to account for the time it takes them to fix this BS

Blimey, I'm glad my PC's CPU is prehistoric right now.
