I would say that a bunch of one tricks cried to Netease to get them to do this because they where getting target banned.

Look if you are a one trick you do not belong in high ranks. It's insane that these players think they belong in top 500, but if there main gets banned the match turns into a 6v5

Its not only for one tricks, i watched necros the last few days and its amazing how often they target banned his characters or his team target banned enemies is incredible.

Probably not the best examples, but that's what pro athletes do in sports - they watch and analyse their opponents to know their game and counter play it, forcing them to evolve or to lose.
That's the idea behind one tricks and people who only play one char and then cry as it's banned. I agree with OP, if you're in top elo, learn and evolve. Hiding your name to avoid bans sounds like low ass attitude. Shouldn't be like that.
