- in the Steam options, go to "Downloads" and you will find a button there to clear the download cache, click it
- restart Steam (clearing the cache will exit Steam)
- start Marvel Rivals and in the launch screen click "Clear Local Configuration Files"
- then click LAUNCH to start Marvel Rivals and it should start on your primary monitor automatically
Not only this, also the shader compilation at the start was now much faster than before, at least for me.
Now the bad news: after some days the problems came back. Now I just found out, that the game starts with the correct settings (primary monitor etc.) if you click "Clear Local Configuration Files" in the launcher before starting the game. For me this did not delete my game configuration, like key bindings. I do not know, what the clear does, but it fixes my problems, so I do it every time when I start the game... :)
Maybe you wanna try that out.
