This game needs to increase its level requirement to access rank or add a playing time restriction to deter smurfing.
I guarantee you they thought I was Smurfing when I wasn’t. This is because we don’t have role queue and I don’t believe people are the same skill on one role as another. So when they have to play one they’re not the best at, their rank is inaccurate.
So maybe as a healer, I should’ve been in platinum but as a DPS I should’ve been in diamond or higher. If you feel like you’re in a lower rank then you should be, play Tank or DPS.
A great healer healing a mediocre DPS makes that great healer mediocre. Meaning the healer is only as strong as their tanks and DPS are.
Edit: I am more opposed to smurfs in games like WoW, where the difference in gear means that you’ll never win. But in games like MR, where the only difference is skill, not so much.
QM is just REALLY unfun.
On a side note, Celestial has A LOT of cheaters.
I got to Celestial 2 and just kept running into cheaters who still aren't banned.
Not the mention much like smurfs
Cheaters duo, so there's a sadistically less chance you get them on your team.
I have too much of an ego to be called hardstuck plat, diamond or GM.
You got to understand me as 1 celestial smurf beat a 3 team of smurfs which ima assuming were gm3.
Well, that guy did great, but I will say we did hard pocket him, and we had a good solid comp that I would have had great confidence in anyway. Even if he had not been a smurf, pocketing him would have been the plan.
Smurfing is like a kid discovering he can burn ants in the summer with a magnifying glass. Then he goes and gets a bigger glass with more ants to fry next summer.
He's the guy who peaked in high school, i assume.
The only true way is to have one account per ip, registered officially, and/or pay for the game. The latter I think would eliminate the skin cash grab's. I'd rather have paid for the game once and be done and earn my way up. And smurfers hate paying twice.
Those solutions work, but are draconian, and possibly not advised.
An easier solution with less downsides is just to make what you have to do with an account to get into comp a giant pain in the ass. Like, instead of level 10, it's level 25, and you have to have several captain ranks in every role. That's a hassle but once you do it with a real account you're done forever.
Maybe like you said, "less" downsides, but taking OW as an example, Comp players smurf for fun so it gets annoying, too. They started banning smurf accounts somehow, idk how they do it.
