Everyone quitting ?
Seeing increased no of bots in QP and increased match times in comp. Checked steam db, over 100k players left in 1 month period (349k to 247k). Any reasons why its happening and is it related to matchmaking ?

Have you tried critical thinking? When you went to this discussion, did you miss the update that is scheduled for tomorrow with changes? Maybe this will help kick start those brain cells.

The data is for entire month. It has nothing to do with weekly patches.

It's very odd how people view numbers. You are very correct lol. It's just so weird to see people not using any brain cells .. and I think this has to do with kids sitting around on reddit and twitch. Mid day, weekday - holding 200k people playing only on steam and they complain the game is dying. Our youth is dying lol

156,178 In-Game ???? 2pm eastern 11am PST weekday. Can you potentially come to a conclusion? Also, have you even checked peak times and days? Or was that too much work for you?
Not a doomer here, yet I think over-hype was real. People have short memory. If we rewind to 2016 when OW released, it stayed hyped and high up in search stats + player count throughout the whole 2016 easily. So that's half a year if I'm being careful with it.

Now OW fell off, sure - but it's been 9 years. MR was compared with an old game that has no hype anymore. Of course, it's Blizz to blame that OW "fell off" - after all, games like CS perform great for a decade+; but all of it goes to show that a fair comparison and expectation for MR would be at least half a year down the line.

Let's see what they deliver. See what mistakes they make and how they learn from it. How they react. What they do. The next checkpoint is likely mid-season 2, where MR will be at "end of 2016 OW" timeline. And then the final judgement is December this year - so, 12 months mark. Then we will see.

I think those who yelled "see, it's not a flash in the pan!" did so too early - but they did have a good reason (so far) to do it. Let's just wait more and see. And yes, ~250k players is still good. Not the ~450k it was during good times, but still respectable.
Yo opino que el juego se le va gente por su mala optimización y por eso cada vez somos menos los que juegan a este maravilloso juego.

Average player number went from 306k in January to 227k in February. How did you count over 100k players?

Its happening why its always happening. Other games being released, people loosing interest, etc.
Steam player numbers being publicly available has been a net negative for humanity.
For me it's only because their servers are unplayable. 15-20 ping in valorant, overwatch, etc but over 100 to 300 ping in the closest server in marvel rivals on a wired connection ?????

You live in Canada.
Most games with seasons have a large spike and slowly drop off, it will be interesting to see how many people come back for season 2.
I remember 15 years ago playing a call of duty game that had 25,000 players online. Now people freak out if a game doesn’t have 300K players.

The game is far from dead.

You have to remember, these kids only have information from streams and do not think on their own. Was much different when we played.
A game is not dead unless it has roughly less than 500 players and there are no updates to it for 6+ months.

Rough estimation, but that's it.
