New update takes up almost 50gb?

Anyone having this issue as well?? i have 50gb left on my drive with rivals already installed. It requires update today about 8gb. But when i download it, the download stop at 94% and telling me that i dont have enough space, and when i checked, turns out, my drive is full? 0 free space.

and then i clear the steam download cache, and it went back up to 40gb. What went wrong?? Because the update size was only 8gb right?

Similar issue here.
Update size is 5.4GB, Steam expects me to have 47.5GB free, which is total size of the game that is already installed.
Haven't found any fixes for it so far

It's because the game is recompiling: download the update, "reinstall" the entire game with new update while keeping up the older version(100Go), delete the older version of the game.

I had 20 GB free left and updated fine. There are sometimes issues when updating games on Steam. You have to simply reinstall game.
