I want a genuine reason.
As to why so many of you are opposed to role queue. It doesn't affect you personally, you can still keep your wacky open mode to play with your friends, while the rest of us that don't really have anyone to play with get to enjoy a tailor made queue for people who want to play their roles and enjoy a normal, equally as fun, match. Except the difference is i know each role is covered and not having to watch the enemy team have a better composition and winning because of it. Simple really.

Everyone is acting as if it would mean the downfall of the game and i cannot see why, comparing it to the OW situation is crazy as that game had several other more impactfull problems to begin with and STILL to this day has several people playing it regardless. This game will strive as it is a great game and in my personal opinion, much better than OW.

So please, do enlighten me as to why a role queue is so bad for you that you hate it so much as if it would affect you.

Thing is, it's DPS players that are whining they don't have a tank or a support.

I play Jeff, I'll always play Jeff even if he got nerfed into oblivion.

So the role queue doesn't affect me at all.

Which boils down to DPS players are sick of other DPS players not healing or tanking and want to force those DPS players to play roles they may or may not be good at.

I admit i want to try and play DPS just as much as the next person because let's face it, i can't tell if i'm good or not with it if i have no space to play it to begin with.

I personally like to play Tank or Support but i do want to try out DPS characters sometimes just to you know, have a feel for them and see if i can actually perform or not.

Except that never happens, everyone just locks in 4 dps most of my matches and it ends up being me as a support or tank, and the final player trying to keep the pillar intact too, or just quitting mid game because having to keep a whole team alive alone as a support is very taxing, or even surviving as a tank alone with all the damage this game has.

role queue might be short sighted but a 3 max per role limit would improve the game immensely.

ill play flex for now, but i dont even bother trying on a 5 dps team, just lock Wolverine and get it over with faster.

ahhh no? i play tank and i still want roll lock, today ALONE. ive lost 10 games where we had 1 tank and 5 dps. at this point its out of hand and the devs need to step in or this will die just like ow did, and even faster in fact.

To be honest, I don't know, there could be a role queue for Comp but I guess it's better to let the players figure out and teach themselves to take action. There's teamups, there's a small indicator warning saying that vanguard and strategist are needed. People gotta learn to see and take action and not let others do. Take action or communicate.

This is for comp, really.
Quickplays and Arcade aren't be taken seriously so no Role Queue.

Having Role Queue for... let's say Comp means you gonna wait for 3 matchmakings; 2 for vanguard, 2 for duelist and 2 for strategist.
Without it, you get 6 players instantly and boom, ready to play. It applies to Quickplay and Arcade as you can see. It also allows, for example; a duelist to switch to vanguard and vice versa because they aren't performing well in one role and can just switch roles to help better the team.

This is what I believe to be the case.

The exception doesn't make the rule.

Tank players are unaffected by the need of a role queue as they're playing Tank anyways.

the fact of the matter is 2/2/2 is the best (and most healthy) way a hero shooter to function. ow1 had it and it was the game that made hero shooters, paladins has it, hell even MOBAS have it. the fact of the matter is roll lock is needed and if it isnt added this game will be killed by all the main characters

to some extent. tank is borderline unplayable without healing. 5 dps 1 tank still sucks just as bad as 6 dps
roll queue forces a meta on players like in OW roll queue is 2 sup 2 dps 1 tank without roll queue we can have fun and play whatever and if im doing bad on supp i can switch with my buddy playing dps thats doing bad or pic up an extra tank cuz 3 tanks is pretty fun i like 2 dps 3 tank 1 supp its pretty fun but yeah roll queue forces a team comp and thats lame also its only dps only players that want it cuz they cant understand anything other than point and shoot

Because it sucks and it's unfun. Go do that in competitive if you want, but leave quickplay out of it.

Because of the innate design implications. Drafting is a huge aspect of mobas - and going unconventional might shock the opponent, similar to strange openings or mid games in say Chess.

If you remove this aspect you basically admit this huge factor of dynamism cannot be leveraged. Furthermore it pillars the community in adversarial cliques more; to make the matchmaking work at all it will often force players to play a few games as tank or support to earn "tokens" even though they do not want to. When they finally get their chance to play their beloved DPS they are even more agitated than usual if things don't go their way.

Tl dr: becomes it promotes individual play in a team game, and because it flattens the depth of the drafting phase.

The data is in the game on steam and even on Reddit.

People are complaining about 4 DPS players insta locking in, yet it's the same people that are also part of the problem.

Strongly agree. The flexibility allows for multiple team compositions that isn't really just 2/2/2 that can perform well.
