Is Comp Just Broken Right Now?

People keep calling me "trash" and "garbage" and all manner of insults because I can't climb out of Bronze no matter what I do.

It's just stomp after stomp after stomp no matter how hard I try. I lose six times in a row only to win one and then right back to a loss streak. I can't do anything about it no matter how hard I try, no matter who I play, no matter how much I sweat my brains out I can't make a DENT in any of these matches.
I'm NOT garbage I swear I'm not playing like I'm braindead, but I can't even get to Bronze 1. I get to Bronze 2 and it tells me that it's better than 58% of the players on that server? Then I get a bunch of stomp losses in a row and the bar drains and I'm all the way back to the bottom.

I even tried playing with other people and the first match was a hard stomp, we couldn't do anything at all while the enemy Duelists just farmed us all match and had perfect aim.
Then everyone quit.

Please tell me I'm not just the absolute worst player to ever exist. Please tell me something is wrong.

It's not you, it's luck of the draw, above average to pros are struggling on youtube and twitch right now. while average joe gets pushed forward because he gets put in fairytale group of good players/premade that needed one against all the groups who for some reason want 4dps and abandons the game.

Yeah its just luck of the draw, I just had a whole group leave because no one wanted to play tank or healer

It's all about what heroes everyone is picking, and if they have a basic understanding of that role. 99% of people are just picking whatever, even when they're not good at it. The amount of times I don't have a healer behind me while I'm tanking is, well, too many times. I don't care if people don't have a ton of skill, just want to see people trying to make a proper team and fill their roles. It doesn't happen much. They need a higher minimum rank to try comp.

Competitive play feels like a joke. It's always land slide victory for one team. Quickplay has better match making. I mean all modern video games are made by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so I don't have high expectations for them.

Doing solo comp never works out, you'll really need a group where you know what their preferred play styles are but sometimes you luck out and find people who mesh with you, I suggest grouping up with them,

cuz everyone starts at bronze, event the really good players who are usually playing in a team. just give it a few weeks or more.

I wouldn't touch comp until they add some kind of role queue.

Not gonna waste my time only to have some kids get into a pissing contest over who should switch because they think they are the best.

The game just launched, give it time till all of the sweats rank up and then it will be much better.

You have literally top 500 overwatch players in premade teams on low ranks right now . Rank literally just came out so a lot of sweats are trying to climb

I was in Bronze 2 briefly, and when I hit it the game told me I was better than 58.58% of the server.
I went back down to Bronze 3 a couple matches later.

That's not happening, so you are avoiding comp based purely on assumptions...
I've literally only seen that behavior in Quickplay; which is to be expected since that's the casual mode.

Just wait a few days so you dont end up matching against with former diamond and platinum overwatch players

As the saying goes, "Teamwork makes the dream work."
Good communication between teammates and understanding your surroundings/situation usually makes gameplay and synergy go quite well.

I'd say play for a bit longer in pubs to get a better understanding of the game, it is quite new and people are still adjusting to how to play the game. Go through your settings, see if there's anything to make you feel much more comfortable for playing. Adjust your heroes, see if there's any settings you can change there to make yourself play them better (ex: changing Venom's or Spider-man's web slinging from easy to manual). Read up on the heroes and see what their abilities are, get an understanding of who you play as and against.

TLDR: Take your time. Comp for majority of games require you to have quite the knowledge for it's gameplay and if you don't understand it, your jumping into the ocean without a life-jacket.
