Tutorial "Click Once to Mark This Spot"

I'm confused. Galacta say "Click Once to Mark this spot" but there is NO OPTION to click! There's no button of combination of buttons that does this. It's either "Fire Gun" or Melee. "G" for interaction does nothing. And I can't progress in the tutorial. Because G-Girl is stuck on this until I do something about it.
I am using a slightly modified Keyboard layout - so that's why I'm IN the tutorial in the first place - to see if any modifications I made have borked things up. Maybe I have already?

I have the exact same issue, and feel like I'm going crazy trying to figure out why it won't work.

I changed my keybinds before starting the tutorial, so maybe that has something to do with it? IDK it's crazy that I've been playing less than 5 minutes and already soft locked the game.

Use the Middle Mouse Button. Denny Crane.

It's not when you are calling out a threat. Most people don't use microphones (unlike myself) and it at least is a way to communicate. You are wrong. Denny Crane.

Noticed this was absent from the control bindings and was frustrated as well.

Finally just noticed a sub menu under keyboard that says communication that has 'Ping Button' under it

on the wheel of your mouse and click it. And the next mission you have 2 click on middle wheel of your mouse
