Rip-off? Why is no one talking about this
The game is good but I can hardly give it merit for that when it's a near beat-for-beat copy of Overwatch. Aesthetics, character mechanics, UI, i think even some voice actors.

There's being inspired, then there's meticulously looking at every aspect of something and taking it, perhaps amending the way it sounds or looks the tiniest bit.

Does this bother no one?

it is a rip off, and it is a really bad one because its full of aimbot users. but Blizzard screwed everyone that bought overwatch 1 when they released overwatch 2. we cant play 6v6 no more, our game is now free to play and we got nothing for compensation. therefore ♥♥♥♥ blizzard.

It barely copies some aspects of OW, but OW isn't the only one with this type of gameplay. Also, you must have missed the latest trend of Chinese devs copying popular games, removing wokeness, and making bank. :D

The way overwatch ripped off team fortress 2.

When you'll guys realize that in the video-game industry.. a lot of assets/textures/UI etc.. are outsourced from Asia, maybe you'll understand a bit better about what you're talking about.

Are we talking about stealing from Blizzard? The masters of "we'll let someone else do it first?"

Google Dirty Bomb.

No one's talking about it because they actually stay informed of the news. This game was originally being made to be an Overwatch mobile game under the cooperation with Blizzard. But NetEase has since split off from Blizzard and the game had to become something else, which turns out is a Marvel game very similar to Overwatch. So it's not a coincidence it looks like Overwatch -- it was meant to be.

Also, Call of Duty flat out ripped off Medal of Honor when it came out. This has been an ongoing thing.

I don't think you can copyright a game mode/genre at this point.

Or else someone really f'ed up when first game with a deathmatch mode came out...

What's funny is that Overwatch based its entire visual design around super hero fantasy and comic book art direction.

You know, the thing Marvel and DC invented decades prior.

Who is out here trying to defend BLIZZARD on creativity lol? The company has made its bank off of straight ripping concepts and game mechanics from different games and packaging them into something accessible. They just mastercrafted that touch with WOW, and then later built OW off of WOW's aesthetic.

What is happening lol

Overwatch doesn't have WoW's aesthetics at all lmao

The closest argument that could be made is the fact that StarCraft and WarCraft were originally supposed to be Warhammer 40k and Warhammer FB games respectively but GW wouldn't agree to a licensing deal, so Blizzard took their working prototypes and made their own IP with them, which is the reason GW after seeing the explosive success of those two games that could have been their IP now gives the Warhammer license to pretty much anybody who asks.

Everything else is just "blizzard made a game in an existing genre" which nobody owns a genre.
