Open queue is impossible to balance and will always be a cluster ****. Despite what the vocal minority scream in Overwatch, role queue is necessary for a game to be competitive.
I would add that 4 of those games were convoy in attack on the same map.. So maybe the map configuration play a role in that or just bad luck eh..
NOPE
Yeah, none of the champions have a high enough skill ceiling to allow for true competitiveness.
I just counted, 14 out of 33 champions all have a simple circle/sphere of death nuke as their ult.
This game could be amazing, I see innovation in about 13% of the game but thats it.
Its riding off the brands momentum and if they don't promise alot the games not going to last very long.
game is just released so it won't show yet but u can expect "pro" premade teams to take over the game.
and also its a free to play game = big mistake -> smurfs will rise out of every hole of the earth in a month.
The only connection I could possibly see is the argument of "but it's impossible to make it all balanced!", to which there is an answer:
-- At worst, if some strategy is found to be too good and devs don't fix it, it will just devolve into playing that strategy. Boring game format, but a competitive one nevertheless. OW had this issue with GOATS despite its role queue for years.
-- But Rivals has an even better option to smoothen the potential sharp edges out: hero bans. Some heroes are too far ahead on the balance bell curve? No worries, ban them and fix the balance.
letterly no point to play a tank atm, theres so much movement and flying characters r just laughing at melee tanks from up in the sky.
If we stuck with that logic, 75% of the roster would always be literally unplayable. Which means people cant play characters they like to play. Which means the game dies.
