I kept getting this crash as well but i verified my files and cleared the config cache on the launcher and now it doesn't crash.

Hope anybody who still gets this helps.
Should've named this game "UE-Marvel Crash Simulator"
Maybe the OS has something to do with it? I have W10 and the game always crashes randomly after 15 mins or so. But other people might have W11 so they are not getting crashes. Just maybe? I don't have a way to know.
i run windows 11 and i get the same crash every time after exacly 2hours of playing
Data verification and repair via Steam helped me.
Reliably happens every 3rd or 4th round regardless of settings. Drivers, Steam verification, and all the other potential solutions don't help, it's clearly an issue with the game and certain coffigurations.

POSSIBLE FIX

hey all, i had this exact problem. looked through the logs and discovered that my game was attempting to fetch system info (required to process the game) using the incorrect environment variable. mine was c://ssllogs but check your game logs and see what your game is using to try and fetch. most likely it will not have the correct permissions and will fail to start properly.

to check the game logs, right click your game and go to properties. go to installed files and click browse files. there should be a folder named 'Logs'. go into that folder and there should be some notebook files. go into it and read through, there should be some lines saying that a process failed since it didn't have permission, then at the end it should show you what it used to try and fetch.

if the problem is an environment variable, you should first check to see if it is a vital variable. if it isn't, then go to settings > system > about > advanced system settings > environmental variables, and check your user variables. find the variable causing mischief and delete it if you're able to

lemme know if this works for you please! :fhappy:

Could you help me find it for me if possible, i'm not good with this kind of stuff, in discord call maybe?

i've explained it for you all there, and this fix only works if your game refuses to start in the first place.
After 2 weeks of trying fixes i figured my issue out. I had the same UE engine crash report, if you browse the marvel rivals files, and enter the log folder. Read through it and see if anything is getting a permission error. For me mine was my downloads folder, the game was trying to download something into this folder and didnt have the correct permissions (This mustve been a hidden permission error because everything related to the game and the folder had proper permissions). To fix this specific issue I looked at my user environment variable and noticed the SSLKEYLOGFILE was pointing to my downloads folder. I deleted this environment variable and it now works. If your issue is pointing to a different environment variable i would research and make sure it is okay to delete (Chatgpt)

The environment variable solved the issue for me! It was pointing an invalid directory which was causing the crash and blocking the anticheat from loading, good find!
Try validating the game files.

Library (Right click game), Properties, Installed Files, and it should be there.
