Do you guys think they’ll ever add a first-person view?
I’m really enjoying this game. Sure, at its current stage, it’s still a bit rough around the edges, but it will definitely improve over time.

In almost six hours of gameplay, I’ve felt a lot of the vibes from the first Overwatch, and that’s one of the reasons this game has kept me hooked in front of the screen.

What bothers me is the lack of a first-person view. I hope it gets added in the future as an option in the settings, so those who want to play in third-person (in my opinion, it’s super uncomfortable to play a shooter like this) can do so, and those who prefer can play it in first-person.

What do you think?

To me third person is fine. Makes having skins more worth it too.

Doubt it. Besides, why would you not want to stare at Psylocke?

I hadn’t considered that lol

The truth is, I’ve never played a third-person shooter, and I’m not sure how to explain it, but constantly seeing my character bothers and distracts me. Maybe I’ll get used to it over time.

If you were to play in first person you would have a distinct disadvantage vs everyone playing in third person due to having a narrower field of view. So unless they locked everyone to First person you wouldnt want to play in first person yourself.

There are definitely small advantages, aiming is easier in first person and you don't have a character blocking your view, I think they should implement it for select characters (like Bucky or Punisher).

I'm with you, TPS acts as a barrier for immersion and I have a harder time aiming and focusing on what I should be doing, in OW I could tell where all my allies and enemies where based on sound design and being immersed, I would flick look and remember where they were, but in TPS my brain gets hella distracted and it's much harder to parse information.

I was googling if the game had an FPS mode, but i take it from here that it's strictly third person. =(

I've been playing rocket racoon and i had to keep jumping because i couldn't gauge if i actually had line of sight or if the gun is going to hit the floor especially around stairs or areas with uneven floors (including platforms and roofs)

First person is huge disadvantage if you can also be 3rd.

For now, I don't really believe it, but I hope that later on, an option will be added in the settings to switch to first-person view. This is my first time playing a third-person shooter, and sometimes even simple movements feel really uncomfortable to me, like you said, when you're near stairs or similar places. Moreover, in my opinion, shooting is much more complicated because sometimes you can't tell if you're hitting enemies or missing your shots. :/

Focus solely on the crosshair and, generally, what's in front of you. Your brain will eventually learn to just stop seeing your character.

That's what the crosshair is for. Just like in an FPS. If they're in your crosshair, you'll hit. If not, you won't.
i think there are more than enough first person hero team games out there.
this is for the third person enjoyers.

Maybe I’m a noob, but coming from ‘classic’ FPS games and playing this one, I can never tell when I’m hitting enemies and when I’m not. Plus, constantly seeing my character really distracts me from the core gameplay. Also, in certain parts of the map, third-person view isn’t exactly the most comfortable.

That said, I’m really having a lot of fun playing, and I’ve got nothing to complain about ! :p

i never understood the logic behind asking for a first person perspective in a third person designed game.
you say you have fun playing, but you want first person view.
in that case, why not just play Overwatch?
or Paladins? or Team Fortress 2? or any of the other ones i suppose?
