I felt it was time to open up a discussion on Marvel Rivals, a game that has generated a lot of excitement

Here’s what I’ve noticed
It’s hard to ignore the paywalls and microtransactions that have crept into the game. Are we stepping into pay-to-win territory? Players can feel pressured to spend extra just to keep up with their friends. This isn’t just a minor grievance; it can fundamentally alter the gaming experience.

While I appreciate the attempt to diversify the roster, some characters feel like they’ve been shoved in just to meet a quota. Are we witnessing genuine representation, or is this just another attempt to capitalize on social movements for marketing?

The community is split—some swear by the game while others feel betrayed. How can such a beloved franchise create such divisions among its fans? It’s almost as if we’re being pitted against each other, depending on our views.

the only hype this game has gathered is due to some toxic guys who liked 6 v 6 in overwatch and they added a tag Marvel in front of the IP that's the only hype, tbh i feel like this game is mobile which got ported to PC, Just give it a month time 60% of player base will be gone

Microtransactions are purely cosmetic, All characters on launch and beyond are completely free.

Every single, I mean EVERY SINGLE character has had so much love put into them, Including community memes, It goes so far as to have Moonknight's "Where's my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money Dracula?" Meme be made canon in his Rivals lore. Squrriel Girl talks about Luke cage, And the Fastball special from the comics is an actual team up ability between Wolverine and Hulk.

I don't really understand the people calling it woke? It's all just previously established characters from the comics? I never even notice this kind of "woke" stuff in games until "loud" people scream about it on the forums but even then it's just like "Oh okay cool anyway"

I can only hope that the governments of the world start jailing and imprisoning the creative teams that don't put out the correct media,

If there's even a hint of woke we should be throwing all the people who worked on the game and supported it financially (publishers, players who bought it, investors, etc), directly into prison.

It's the only way we're gonna get rid of all these crazy liberals.

Game has zero P2W. Whatever you heard or thought you heard, you heard wrong.

Is the game worth the hype? Frankly the only thing worth talking about for this game is the Marvel license. The actual gameplay is leagues behind Overwatch, and is maybe at Paladins level at best, except Paladin actually runs smoothly and properly without crashing and has better gunplay.

Game has horribly balanced heroes, it's trying to be a hero shooter but is mixing in so many melee heroes, most of whom suck balls because you have Frank Castle shooting them full of holes.

The game also feels clunky, the movement and animation are stiff and jank, the game needs a lot of work, it's all hype right now.
