Why Does This Have Bad Reviews?

Bad performance? Bad gameplay? Woke crap? Monetization? What's the deal? This looked pretty solid from what I saw in the previews.

Give it to me straight gamers.

If you expect at least a little bit of a Shooter in a Team Shooter you will be frustated with this game. I do not want to yolo with melee DPS but they are absolut overpowered at the moment and need no skill. The balance is absolut garbage i got to shoot from a Wolverine after boszing shield for 1200 hp with Venom ... I am after 3 Hours done with this game.

Hmm, the only thing Overwatch fans should be angry about is the pathetic joke that was Overwatch 2. I don't care who makes a game, if China makes a good game good for them, I don't see why that would be a problem.

They invested more in marketing and making sure the microtransactions were perfect and overpriced. Adding yet another disappointing release to 2024. Marvel geeks see genius and the rest of us see another uninspired corporate slopfest that still reeks of the mobile game it used to be.

Sorry, I should clarify, I consider a game with "Mostly Positive" reviews to be a bad review score. Great games don't land with "Mostly Positive" if you've been on Steam for awhile.

So, it's corporate slop? I don't like or dislike Marvel, I could see it being a decent IP for a game like this. Uninspired sounds bad.

I'm downloading it now to see for myself, but between the reviews and what I'm reading here, it sounds pretty bad.

Honestly... that's pretty reasonable since there so many games out there that we don't have the time to play them all.

not sure then, for me the game is great, but the crashing and hard locks is annoying and i have no idea where's its coming from. something the devs need to look into it.

Overwatch has always been boring to me, Paladins was good until they removed the 3rd person view so i uninstall that game too, Valve new game deadlock or whatever its called its stupid. I think one reason why i like playing Marvel Rivials is because of the characters, if it wasn't for that, i probably wouldn't play it.

The only MOBA i really did enjoyed Paragon, but dumb ass epic games shut it down without making it playable off, so as Overprime, but Marvel rivials is pretty fun, even though i only play solo vs the AI, not interested in PVP.

Which brings me to another point, i think they could of use the Marvel IP and its characters for a different game, rather than an Overwatch paladins type of game, maybe a Pure MOBA game with offline support or and a ARPG third person similar to Hellgate London with Random Color loot. or a Open world game simlar to Just cause . Just my views, but its cool for the moment. 8/10

Because it's the same crap with really bad map design. The best part is the ability to destroy parts of the map, but then they regenerate at the most annoying times for example. Just let them stay destroyed. They literally didn't change anything about the maps since the beta. They're really not fun to play on. Push the payload always results in a map becoming a hallway of varying size and shape while the king of the hill maps are always just a hill in an open area with corridors leading into them.

There's almost nothing interactive except the one new map where flame spouts spawn. (Which is a good start, but not enough)

There's other problems too, but the map design and game modes are atrocious and boring really making the sandbox stagnant from the get go.

Ah man, Hellgate London was a sweet game, even with it's short comings. I like your ideas, thanks for the insight.

I'm going to try it for myself. Not ever game has to be a perfect "I'm gonna play this non-stop for months" game to enjoy.

Probably a PvE mode would be nice. But the concept of heroes teaming up with villains, to kill other heroes teaming with other villains is... out of place. Thinking of it that way really does just make it feel like OW with free Marvel skins.

The situation is that this game was fixed up as cheaply as possible to cater to the easiest demographic possible which are marvel fans. It feels like constantly being in the cringy banter sections of those movies except you also have to play the jankiest mindless hero shooter alongside it. If you liked OW1 and nothing else since, this is a very bad version of that.
