I've had frame generation disabled and have played in borderless window from the start as those are the default settings for me, but it still unfortunately occurs so it's not those things that are causing it based off my experience.
Looks like I'm having the same problem after playing the game for a bit. Did you manage to fix it without disabling g-sync?
The good news is, this is the only game it is happening with for me until I launch Marvel Rivals. The bad news is, after I launch Marvel Rivals and it has flicker, it causes flicker with adaptive sync in games that weren't affected pre-Marvel Rivals, and the only way to solve that is to boot into safe mode, use DDU to uninstall display driver, then reinstall the driver. Real ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Once I get my battlepass done I'm uninstalling until this is fixed.
EDIT: I have since found if you disable Gsync before launching the game, then re-enable it *after* the game has completely closed, it will not "infect" other games with flickering when Gsync is re-enabled. So this is the workaround for now.
It's not exclusive to Nvidia. I experience the issue on my AMD Radeon gpu. What it seems to have come down to for me and others is having adaptive sync (free sync for me, gsync for you) enabled, especially while in the game menu. If you turn that off before entering Marvel Rivals and leave it off (or maybe until you enter a match but then again turning it on and off will feel super inconvenient), you fortunately won't see the issue. However unfortunately, it sucks because adaptive sync is vital and highly beneficial for a game like this.
Yeah it's a game optimization problem. The last patch screwed the game's peformance.
