Flickering in the menu
Does anyone else get a fast black flickering when in the menus ?
Doesn't happen when I'm in a match, only on the main menu and other screens like the character page etc.

I tried changing some of the graphics settings but so far no luck.

I'm also experiencing this issue. I immediately notice it as soon as I tab out of the game from the menu and into things like Discord. It gradually gets worse on any window I'm on, until it's enough to not ignore. Goes away after closing the game.

it might be because of this?

If you have AMD FSR3 Frame Generation enabled, it says to avoid switching windows or displays while in fullscreen mode. This may cause the game to crash or become unstable.

So ima play in borderless for sure.

I've had frame generation disabled and have played in borderless window from the start as those are the default settings for me, but it still unfortunately occurs so it's not those things that are causing it based off my experience.

turning off g-sync in the nvidia control panel worked for me

Disabling G-Sync fixes the flicker.

Yeah, but it disables literally the feature that makes you monitor good. Also if you enable it back it will continue to flicker in every game. Marvel Rivals breaks g-sync in your monitors do not play that game until they fix it

Looks like I'm having the same problem after playing the game for a bit. Did you manage to fix it without disabling g-sync?

I know a lot of flickering issues can be caused by overlays/various recording software as well.
If you try turning off nvidia overlay or any other recording software, see if that helps.
Thanks. I turned on steam overlay so I could buy currency from the store in game. Thats when the flickering started Im pretty sure. Turned off steam overlay again and it seems fine now.

Played with all settings ingame, still flickers. Disabling Steam overlay did not stop it from flickering. Tried lowering refresh rate as well, and rolling back GPU driver. Only fix is to disable adaptive sync on monitor.

The good news is, this is the only game it is happening with for me until I launch Marvel Rivals. The bad news is, after I launch Marvel Rivals and it has flicker, it causes flicker with adaptive sync in games that weren't affected pre-Marvel Rivals, and the only way to solve that is to boot into safe mode, use DDU to uninstall display driver, then reinstall the driver. Real ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Once I get my battlepass done I'm uninstalling until this is fixed.

EDIT: I have since found if you disable Gsync before launching the game, then re-enable it *after* the game has completely closed, it will not "infect" other games with flickering when Gsync is re-enabled. So this is the workaround for now.

My gf had these fast black flashes during gameplay and main screen. One time I noticed that it looked to be her wallpaper and when she paused her wallpaper engine while game is active all flickering was gone. Not sure if this helps anyone here but if you use wallpaper engine you might want to try to do that.
literally weeks into waiting for a fix for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

is this still happening? i uninstalled the game out of pure fear of bricking my gpu, this sh!t is not an okay bug, this should have already been fixed

Still happening yeah, I tried again since now the stutter seems to be gone, so had hope. It might be a Nvidia driver issue, and there hasn't been a new one since the gameready one for this when it came out.

It's not exclusive to Nvidia. I experience the issue on my AMD Radeon gpu. What it seems to have come down to for me and others is having adaptive sync (free sync for me, gsync for you) enabled, especially while in the game menu. If you turn that off before entering Marvel Rivals and leave it off (or maybe until you enter a match but then again turning it on and off will feel super inconvenient), you fortunately won't see the issue. However unfortunately, it sucks because adaptive sync is vital and highly beneficial for a game like this.

make sure adaptive sync on your monitor is off.
I set my monitor down to 120hz and it also resolves this. I will sometimes turn it back on 240hz in-game and usually won't see flicker until the display darkens or goes still, like in a menu. This also happens to me playing Factorio, so our culprits are either GPU software or monitor firmware. Cheers

Yeah it's a game optimization problem. The last patch screwed the game's peformance.
