How do you bypass the launcher on startup?
Launchers are always annoying, and I cant seem to disable it running as admin as well. I tried the –skip-launcher in the launch options but that doesnt seem to work

You can also skip the UAC prompt without editing the registry, by adding the following to the game's launch options in Steam:
cmd /min /C "set __COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER && start "" %command%"
it worked ilysm bro
Can anyone else confirm if this works?
If so I need to add it to the Megathread

Yes this works to get rid of the UAC. Does not foreground the launcher or bypass it.

Confirm#2 - yes it does work, to explain for any newbies...right-click [Properties] on game icon, add cmd line to "Launch Options" on 'General' Tab & close window to save update.
When you now run the game, it skips the annoying UAC security prompt (may notice a slight flash) & goes straight to the game Launch window.

Big ups to Martok for the original fix post.

I don't think so?
Idk I never checked because any virus or malware worth a damn can get around UAC anyway and UAC only really prevents the user from running stupid simple malware scripts. (I've been fixing and building PCs for 23+ years now and have had to remove viruses by hand on more than 1 occasion, and UAC didn't do ♥♥♥♥ about them)

UAC is really just one of those "protect the user from themselves when they lack basic computer common sense" situations and in another generation or 2 it likely won't be needed at all when people learn better computer hygiene; or realize how bad it is at it's job.

You say that, but the average user's computer literacy is DROPPING, not improving. We're well and truly past the high point of general competence.

I'm pretty sure they've patched the previous launcher skips due to the extra verification they added to combat modded assets

so no way to skip launcher for now?

SteamDeck=1 %command%
works for me, but IDK if that'd work on Windows?

I'm curious to know if this works on Windows, works like a charm on Linux

This doesn't work anymore. It launches the launcher

On Linux it's SteamDeck=1 %command%

No registry edits.
