It's the way some games work on steam it downloads package 39 gigs then unpacks it yeah they should have made us be able to unpack before launch but no big it's almost done unpacking I willjump in later anyway have to cook dinner etc. I will be on around 9 or so. Hope the servers are working okay it's a day one release so I'm not getting my hopes up. Looks like a really fun game though so looking forward to it. We shall see

And here's mine telling me it's not released, so can't even unpack. Yes I've restarted Steam

Pre-load is a scam unless you have a NASA ssd lol. Its faster to just download the game when it releases.

I feel ya.... Makes absolutely no sense what so ever... Thanks for allowing us to "pre-download" for nothing lol.

And yet, 130,000 in game

Yeah, it's only a 37GB download, that's only about 10 minutes, not sure why i bothered preloading.

I bet a lot of people are thinking of the same kind and the download servers will be flooded

It's for people with slow internet so they don't spend days waiting for it to download. Unpacking happens at like 40mb per second. Some people download slower than that.

5 minutes to download from a 2gb connection. less than one minute at most to load shaders. cpu at 100%. based on cpu not disk. it's your ancient i3 which is the issue

the "unpacking" has absolutely NOTHING to do with internet speed and EVERYTHING to do with disk speed (hard drive). Can go under task manager>performance and see your disc usage.

Mine downloaded at 195MB/s. Then unpacking peaked at 130MB/s. So it is not based on hard drive speed.

It's literally hard drive speed... feel free to do what I said while unpacking a game or even opening google... You download off the internet then your computer opens aka unpacks said file.
