What I learned hitting diamond.
I don’t think I’m some amazing player with crazy good hand-eye coordination and quick reflexes like people in Eternal. Most people can make Diamond if they’re an average gamer with good coordination with their team. Comps that I’ve seen work really well include characters you wouldn’t think are great, but they actually are.

Storm is number one. If you’re a good Storm player, you can carry your team with DPS. Also, if you know how to play Thor and team up with Storm, it’s an insane combo. Of course, there’s ol’ reliable: Strange, Hulk, and Iron Man. If they know how to play, it’s an easy win.

Another combo people don’t realize is Hulk and Wolverine not because of the fastball move, but because if they crash a target together with Gamma Shield, it absolutely shreds the frontline. Namor this season is really good. If you learn how to play him, he’s easily S-tier. I’ve had so many Namors carry DPS wise.

Mantis and Luna are still top tier for support and healing. Cloak and Dagger are also really good. But one I never would’ve imagined is Loki. If you know how to play Loki, he’s a harder character to master, but he’s busted. He has average heals and decent damage, but his ult is unbelievable. Double Luna ult, double Mantis ult, double Star-Lord ult, coordinating with your team can literally change the momentum of the game.

As for newer characters, Mr. Fantastic is just a tank with long punches. He isn’t all that great, with decent team coordination honestly, he’s below average. Invisible Girl, on the other hand, is really good if you know when to play her. She completely counters Wolverine, who’s thought to not have any counters, so she’s definitely one.

Overall, learning more about the game has been really fun. There are a lot of characters that can be used effectively if you know what you’re doing.

I get it but most issues people are having is not within not knowing basic team ups, the issue is people not knowing wtf to do in game.

This means people do not understand positioning, when to push, when to give space, what to counter with what, who they should listen to and list goes on. I am literally having games where 2-3 people thinking they are MC of the game picking dps while I am keeping litrally everyone alive, including second healer who often does not even know I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exist, while also taking obj, while also having personal rivalry with one of the enemy team dps. Like I am not even joking when I say that often I have to do all of that and my entire team just can't seem to understand that punisher is flanking us and I have to 1 v 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ punisher as a healer for example. TIll it is too late and we lose and then it's like, oh yeah we got flanked but somehow it is still healers fault.

People really got to learn basic strategies and positioning and thats only way to start doing better really. The games have been beyond brutal lately and I legit do not know what gods did I piss off to be paired with people that actually make me believe that I am god gamer compared to them, which I know I am not a god gamer, but they are so bad that it makes me feel like one.

You gotta make it through the maze, it seems you want to play this game at least somewhat competitive, doesn't mean you have to be top 500, grand master or eternity. Bronze silver gold and even plat have people thinking they are the main character of the story. And they will talk bs and blame you if the team loses. This game is a team game, every role is super important but the ones who go dps without following team coordination, you are destined to lose. I have a 51% win rate just by grinding it out even during insufferable moments. But if you do it, you will make a rank where people actually wanna play the game like a team shooter.

Honestly I do not wanna go beyond grandmaster ever or maybe even diamond. I know I wanna hit at least gold every season for the skin but besides that I do not wanna get in ultra sweat super comp games for which you got to wait longer in que. My season 0 winrate was alright I guess, sat at about 55-60% win rate by the end I think however this time it's been actually unberable at times and I mean all the times lol. I know I can't always lock in nor am I always undisputed gem of the team but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ past few days have been something else.
I have a lot to learn of this game but some things are a bit obvious and some don't seem to comprehend. If you are not waiting for your team to regroup and rushing on your own, then its your bad. if your a healer and prioritizing kills more than healing when healing is needed then its your bad. if you are dps and not changing your strategy when needed then its your bad, for example like not protecting your healers from flankers or not flanking the enemy healers or supporting the tanks to finish low health enemies.

Shade, i think some competitive players would be interested if you write a long list of to-do's and not-to-do's and perhaps we can learn more from you. Maybe some people that agree with your advise will add each other to play more strategic.

This should be shown in game before you've hit that Play Ranked button for the first time. They need to teach people how Ranked is different from QP
