Why is it so hard to think in terms of competitive play?
If they have 2 ranged, why would you pick Iron Man just to die the first time you fly?

If they pick 3 tanks, why don’t you play Wolverine, etc. etc.

These not-too-smart players don’t know how to counterpick. And I’m talking about competitive, not quick play where losing = fun.

If your friends aren’t online, the solo part is pretty tough, since there aren’t many 'solo carry' options here.

The problem is, there are too many heroes, and it’s all like, 'Oh, I like this one, this one’s cool,' and the whole team ends up playing 5v6 :D

Because people are way less competitive nowadays. Game industry "casualized" players - easy games, no challenging gameplay at all. If you look at old games - they posed a fair challenge, some were really tough.
Plus it's a free game - means there will be a lot of trolls/selfish people who don't give a f about a team in a team-based game. Sad but true.

I get what you mean. I’ve mostly stopped playing competitive games unless I have someone to play with. But this game turned out pretty good. Even if it cost €70, I think lots of people would still play it. Look at Helldivers—it had 300-400k

Playing in a coordinated way and being a sweatboi are not the same thing. But there’s no point in me saying anything if your IQ matches the casual Spider-Man's KDA :P

People want to play a game getting dogged on because it's fun apparently. Seen a Spiderman countered to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell and still refused to change.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Retired from sweating in such games too, but I really like MR. Don't mind a bit of sweating once more. :WH3_greasus_rofl:
Sadly, as person above said - it's a kids game. And I highly doubt they care about team play and all that.
Though the devs should explain in game the difference between qp and ranked - not just say Try comp at lvl10.
Tell players when they should try Ranked. Also, lvl10 is WAY too early to get into ranked imo.
good points, it does feel 1000% better playing with someone you know

I think calling it a 'kids' game' is an exaggeration.

Look at Fortnite, look what it became. Even when it started, kids were playing, but so were people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even older, both casually and competitively.

Just because it’s Marvel-based doesn’t mean it’s a 'kids' game.' But yeah, soon enough, this game will probably be full of toxic players and trolls, and then everyone will move on to the next 'best game of the year' copy-paste. And yes, should level 30 instead of 10.

But it's like in other games like COD, CSGO, Rainbow, etc. If you want to ranked, you need to play with a team x)

Unless you have a cooperative, coordinated team, don't expect much from randoms. Besides, we're just here to play and have fun. Unless I'm getting paid to compete and win, it's all just a game.

Old games also had more tightly designed mechanics and focused on making individual success and skill more important over broader things like team wrangling or playing Rock Paper Scissors on the selection menu. Old team games like Tribes and early Battlefield were mostly about making the best with what you had, everyone had a role and you could support each other, but each individual was capable of and expected to take care of themselves alone. Team play was important but each person was a complete unit that shared a goal with their team, if someone was goofing off, you were down a teammate, but were still operating at full capacity yourself, it would be like running a relay race with one less person than everyone else, it's more work, but it's still in your hands.
Modern games like this are more about each player representing an incomplete part of a full team, you're not even 1/3rd of a functioning team on your own and if you aren't doing what it is that you're designated to do then you've already lost the game, everyone has different goals and is expected to do different things because that's how it works, so playing with someone who isn't doing that is instead like trying to run a relay race with everyone in your team missing a leg. So it becomes very easy to become frustrated at other players for not doing their job, because your individual success depends on their commitment to their role.
People seem to believe that playing a game more serious to get better and win is changing it from a game to a job. Striving to Improve oneself is like taking on doing more work to get better.
