Will this game still be popular after a year or more?

Popular, but not as much. You can go on steamstats, go by month and see right now, the game is dying. Its a steady line going down, consistently.

The game has massive balance issues and the first major patch fixed literally none of them.
People are becoming more aware of the bots in QM/Real players in V bots issues.
It still has many issues with its performance.
Hackers run rampant.
Healing is so overtuned the meta is literally to spend half a min + effectively invincible on point with consecutive healer ults but lower ranked players aren't smart enough to understand this so some characters are total garbage v anyone good and unstoppable killing machines v the majority of the playerbase (Ie Iron Fist), making balancing it hard, if they were even trying to make the game remotely balanced, which they don't seem to be
If they keep up the trend that they said they were going to do of new heroes every month and a half. Then yes, a drip line of content at that rate would be more than enough to keep the core base involved while enticing other players to keep coming back. The game literally had it's highest peak recently after the fantastic 4 patch at 644,000 players.

The game had it's all time peak 5 days ago, over a month after release, so yes it very much does

No. I have several friends who literally only play this to play as their favorite superheroes and they are getting bored finally. This game would not have gotten popular if it weren't Marvel brand and that helps so much.

It will be. Just will have less players but probably not a ton less.
absolutely not

It will be popular, that's like not even up to discussion. But everyone will make "Rivals fell off" videos, because it's no longer 400k players, but still in top 100 games in steam.

A year is a long time, right now it is one of the best games ever made

Lol... welcome to hero shooters. Healing is an important part of these games. Learn to hit 2 headshots in a row or find openings in their healing to win. You need more than just aimskill to win in these games. Need some strategy and target prioritization. If you are hitting tanks and no one is helping and it doesn't seem like enough damage you are doing the wrong thing. Find angles on a backliner. Sometimes your team will have enough damage to punch through the frontline, but not always.

That is no evidence for the game dying. Sorry dude. If it is this popular now, then it will remain relatively popular for a long time. Obviously it will lose some people. But it's fate is set bar any catastrophe.

Your dislike for the strategy elements of the game has nothing to do with the success/fail rate.

It could also go the way a shockingly large number of chinese games go (most recently realm of ink) and get removed for cheating the system with faked reviews, the bots, etc.
I've seen like 6 of them and an entire publishers line be removed for this kind of thing
I don't think so, game won't be that popular, those F2P seem to die quickly. Also there are like 8 maybe 10 maps, you will get bored with them eventually.

I'm surprised they didn't invent any new game mode only copied those well known from Overwatch / Overwatch 2.
There is this broken matchmaking issue, which is anything but fair. Don't get me started on weak anti-cheat.
