This is great. I just want to point out you can check NurtureCooper's games on there. The replay code he posted was from the 13th and like he said it was his first game of the season. The previous 2 games were losses from more than a week ago. The game he posted had bots. It follows a pattern.
Yup, I believe NurtureCooper, I wanted to add my experience as well to spread awareness because it's pretty crazy to queue for a pvp match and be placed against bots, if you leave the bot match it will endlessly put you into bot matches until you play one out it's happened to me 3 or 4 times in a row I just stopped queuing for QP
I thought getting a higher rank would remove them but I got to Diamond and I was still getting bot matches. It's just incredibly disappointing and crazy to read people are denying it.
Yeah, you will be match with bots 100% after 2 lose in quick play. You can press tab when match begin. The'll be low level 1-3 and basic name plates. Their profile will be restricted too. Its complete waste of time playing and you can't leave the match. So dumb
Quick play is a joke, I'll just stick to bot mode & ranked not quick play. I want to know when I'm playing bots & not after the match.
I'm guessing they do this as a "feel-good" mechanic to incentivise players to buy skins or keep playing. If I had gotten rolled completely in my first match of the season, I probably would've stopped playing or gone back to the vs. bots playlist. I guess it does work.
But the issue is that the bots they're employing are specialized higher-difficulty bots (that aren't like the normal bots) and they're undisclosed.
Another game I play that does this is Pokemon Unite, they will throw you bot matches in quick play or backfill with bots without disclosing it too. It's a common practice among chinese dev teams that make mobile-like games full of transactions.
The fact that they're undisclosed is what bothers me the most. They need to just make a post about it and explain what it is and why they do it, this is like.. a really shady practice that shouldn't be tolerated in gaming anymore without explanation or reasoning.
(also thanks for the tracker link, I'll be using this to scan replays from now on to see who were bots, if any)
