Play Time bug(?)/game not fully closing

I have a friend that plays Rivals but their game doesn't seem to close when they exit the game and launcher. What I'm talking about is they have a play time that is more than the rest of the friends I see that play combined. This one friend has almost 90 hours played, through Steam, and has told me personally that they have played maybe 2 hours. This is leading me to the game is not fully closing when they exit the game and close the launcher. Has anyone else faced this and found a way to fix it? They claimed that task manager also does not show the game running to force it closed. They also showed me a picture in Discord of their Steam library showing the game attempting to close but the play/stop button just displaying "stopping."

I thought that this happened to me once but I was able to find the game in Task Manager and force it closed.
