unfair penalty
Anyone else crash as game is like loading in and get banned for 15 mins. just seems a little unfair because i wasn't given a chance to load back in and was just instantly banned with loss of rp.

When you left, your 5 other teammates had to player harder in order to compete against a team with one extra player then them. That's why.

You can handle a 15 minute ban, it'll be over before you know it
The reason you can't load back in is because the game was cancelled. If someone leaves quick enough, it's back to the menu.

If not, you should be able to load back in. The only reason you can't is because of horrendous load times on your end, stopping you from getting back in.

The penalty is not unfair. Think from the perspective of someone is is playing, and has a leaver on their team now. They don't know your game crashed or have any idea why your gone. Now, they are short a person in a game where each additional body matters. Team fights are decided by who gets first pick half the time. It's typically GG's from the point you have a leaver. The cooldown is to give you a chance to fix ur system and hopefully not ruin someone else's time.

It's not the other players system that's the reason it crashes 99.99% of the time, it's because they're using UE which runs horribly already and their specific implementation of it is bad.

I know the reason it crashes. I am saying avoid comp if you are crashing, not that the other players are affecting you. Even though the game is using UE5, and is not the best optimized, many people are not experiencing crashes. I guess I should count myself lucky and be happy I haven't crashed.

Anyways, try this

Have you made sure that your GPU drivers are updated?

Make sure that you don't have any overclocks. Verify the integrity of the game files.

Try running the game as administrator.
Steam > Marvel Rivals (right click) > Properties > Installed Files > Browse > MarvelRivals_Launchers (right click) > Run this program in compatibility mode and run this program as admin

You can also try this advice:

Before you go into the game on the Marvel Rival Launcher Options

select [Minimaze to System Tray] and remove the [Exit Launcher When Game Starts]

When the game starts make sure to go to my Tray and Open the launcher in the background.
You guys are missing the point.
It is unfair because the game KNOWS you crashed, and how often it happens.
If it's not often, the game was the problem, so you shouldn't be penalized.
If you can send a report, you should be shielded from this.
Nice Necro, and I also don't think they can 100% know if it's a crash. Some instances they might know, but you can just unplug your Ethernet or power and it'll probably appear similar.

Even if they can detect it, the game is still ruined. Average rejoin time is minutes and team down a player will have already lost a point. Just go GG next.
well why in the hell is there so many crashes if this game is a top tier game i enjoy it more than over watch but i have everything updated in my pc and i'm stuck sitting here having to validate game files on steam getting penalty's over and over and over again its starting to get annoying and i'm sure its gotta do with something the game is or isn't doing all ik is my pc is able to run many games at once and do it with no lag no crashing and no problems but when i run M.R. then theirs a problem with crashing and its the only thing open so i shouldn't get punished because i need to validate my game files 24/7 365 days like this is outrages i think its a game fix not a dang user fix at this point and yes i did look on google and looked at all the support stuff and i even uninstalled and reinstalled it but i still need to validate 24/7 this needs to be fixed so many crashes happening
Ya. I been looking around the internet and it not a you problom. A lot of people have it. While yes, it sucks to be stuck in a 5v6. What to know what not fair, crashing and then being blamed for ♥♥♥♥ that not your fault.
That should only be the case if it back to back after half a hour, because then you know your game is not working and should stop and find out why.

I’ve had this issue too. It's frustrating when the game crashes right as it’s loading, and then you get hit with a penalty—especially when it’s for something out of your control, like losing RP. It's not like you intentionally quit or caused any issue.

I understand that penalties are there to prevent people from intentionally disconnecting, but there should be a better system in place to account for crashes, like a grace period or automatic rejoin option. Has anyone else experienced this, or found a way to avoid getting hit with penalties when things crash unexpectedly?

Would love to hear if others have had similar issues and how they’ve dealt with it.

Even worse is when a player on your team crashes and you end up losing points as if the match was in any way balanced. The game should cut you a little slack for losing a 5v6. I know they can't just turn off losing points entirely because it can be abused, but there *are* still ways around this. Maybe base it off whether you're partied with the crashed player or not.
3 healer + 2 tank + dmg = imba :steamhappy:

It’s on you to get it fixed/addressed so it doesn’t happen before entering matches yes.
