Might get punished because game keeps crashing?
I have been playing Marvel Rivals for a decent amount of time, but the amount of crashes isn't nice. I had just tried competitive for the first time, and my game crashes. I come back after relaunching the game to find I have a penalty. Does anyone know of any fixes whatsoever? I don't want to keep getting punished for things that are not under my control. I don't even have that old of a setup.

I would advise if your game is constantly crashing, to stay away from comp until you have it sorted out. Not just for yourself, but for your teammates. If you are frequently crashing, you are ruining the experience of others who want to take the game serious. In my 100 hours, I haven't crashed once. Maybe I'm lucky. Maybe it's cause I'm not using a 5 yo+ GPU or CPU.

But yes, if you are leaving games once they start, no matter the reason, you get punished. Comp first leave is 15 mins, and it keeps going up. You might lose rank progress as well.

Post specs, GPU, CPU, RAM, and storage methods. Also make sure your wifi is solid.

Oh that is some good advice. I thought it was fine today since it didn't crash, but second game into rank and it happens. I didn't think about the other team mates, so I will definitely avoid competitive until it is fixed.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Ram - 32GB
Storage Method - SSD (I think that is what you mean)

Your specs seem on par with what the game requires. Have you made sure that your GPU drivers are updated?

Make sure that you don't have any overclocks. Verify the integrity of the game files.

Try running the game as administrator.
Steam > Marvel Rivals (right click) > Properties > Installed Files > Browse > MarvelRivals_Launchers (right click) > Run this program in compatibility mode and run this program as admin

You can also try this advice:

Before you go into the game on the Marvel Rival Launcher Options

select [Minimaze to System Tray] and remove the [Exit Launcher When Game Starts]

When the game starts make sure to go to my Tray and Open the launcher in the background.
I make sure to check my drivers updates every day since I started playing this game.

Not sure how to check the overclocks but I will look it up, as well as everything else you have suggested.

I understand the love for this game, and I don't want to ruin that fun for other players, so any and all advice on how to get this game working is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

If you haven't set up any OC than you should be fine. Wouldn't hurt to get something like hardware monitor to see if temps are fine though.

I use a 5700x and a 3060ti. I play on all low and DLSS balance. 1440p and I get constant 165. Make sure that your settings aren't too high and are properly adjusted as well.

It could also be something to do with your wifi or the speed of the SSD (unlikely).

This is all helpful. I will check in the morning and come back to this!
Thanks!
Not sure if you've already tried it my game crashed regular back in early December and i went into my device manager > display adapters > disabled the non graphics card one and then re enabled it to force the game to use my graphics card and not CPU and i've not had an issue other than server lag since.

It seems that I only have the RTX 3060 in my display adapters section? Do I disable that?

If that is your GPU, that should be what you select.

Do you have a crash report from event viewer?

Do you have a crash report from event viewer?
Is that when it crashes and shows the black box with "send report"?

Also I didn't realize last night, but the first step you had advised, "Try running the game as administrator.Steam > Marvel Rivals (right click) > Properties > Installed Files > Browse > MarvelRivals_Launchers (right click) > Run this program in compatibility mode and run this program as admin" was running while the crash happened. I have unchecked the options and checked them again so that I will try.

Also will disabling my only display adapter turn off my screen?

Thank you guys so much for the help, I am new to this kind of crash. I watched some tutorials but none of them really solved my issue, and I saw one that said to rollback the graphics card driver, but that will affect all the games I play, not just Rivals

Rolling back the driver shouldn't do much. Typically driver updates fix stability issues and smooth out the performance (mainly in newer titles).

Disabling your only display adapter will do something. What that is? I don't know and it shouldn't be the fix to any of your problems.

I take it that you're using a gaming laptop? Make sure that the temperatures are okay and the cpu or gpu isn't crashing cause of temps.

If you search for "Event Viewer" it should open a program that allows you to see the crash reports, or generally everything going on in the pc. Crashes will be a red exclamation mark.

No, I'm using a PC. Haven't had a laptop in years haha. I saw someone else recommend your system tray strat, so I hope this will help. This is the only game I have ever had crash, so that's why this is all very surprising to me.
I am on Event Viewer, but I have no idea how to navigate this or what I am looking for

The next time you crash open it up and the crash should be the most recent report. It'll be after a decent amount of stuff if it's been a minute since last crash.

Why would you try competitive when you keep crashing you just screw over your entire team....
3 leaves in a week should be season ban

Ah okay, well hopefully with what you suggested their won't be a crash. But I will comeback if it does
